Salem cuts Amy Jacobson

I can only guess Salem's non competitive part of the contract did not take into account podcasts. I thought they were supposed to become big players in the digital world. Usually the language of "different direction" and thanking Salem, missing her coworkers and what joy it was to work at a Christian centered business is part of the goodbye post. The severance package usually is enough to make folks "cool down" for a while.

The sale of the CCM stations was supposed to solve a lot of Salem's financial problems but IMHO staff cuts tell me there still is a lot of problems at Salem. The second quarter financial statement will be interesting because I believe it will be the first without the CCM revenue.

I've been trying to think of any digital platform that Salem established and grew from scratch. Townhall (bought from National Review), HotAir (bought from Michelle Malkin), Twitchy (also bought from Malkin) and RedState (bought from Eric Erickson) are all acquired products.

They have a FAST streaming video channel. Was that home grown or a rebrand of something they purchased?

Dan Proft is not my cup of tea, to say the least.
