Salem took over Journal's KHLP 1420 at midnight Thursday, beginning a 'stunting' of Ronald Reagan speeches.
On Monday they will launch News-Talk 1420 KOTK, with many Salem hosts, Dave Ramsey and local news.

Whatever Salem's stunting with, the programming they unveil will be a big letdown. Maybe that should be a new permanent format... stunting ("it's coming sometime... but this is the best it will get!")

Calls from a former Portland sex talk station. How blasphemous!

> Salem hosts, Dave Ramsey and local news.

Local news? Is it an actual human in the building?

Maybe "local news" means someone in the Kansas City cluster reading a traffic report.

Salem doesn't have a Kansas City cluster. However, if your point is rip-and-read news from a remote location is what they will do for local news, I get your point.

KOTK for Omaha TalK. Nobody in Omaha will know the call letters history. BEsides, the tower is down by the river. They no doubt baptized it :)

The new source, as I understand is Metro News. Local reporters.

Farmed out local news... kinda like having a "home cooked" Thanksgiving meal courtesy of Boston Market.

WGKA in Atlanta is the same format.. I like it. Besides whats wrong with the baptismal of a tower.... Hmmmmm....???? Seems like a blessed radio station.. Who knows may even sound great... People and the Salem name.. Why does everyone jump on Salem.. They do a good job.
