Salem News article about WMWM

It's newsworthy because we finally DID get online! Takes awhile sometimes for a station like us but we've
made great strides. And at least some more people on the North Shore may be aware now that we exist.

I'm surprised where I sometimes find spots where WMWM comes in while driving. I can hear it in some areas in Newton, and recently I heard it when stopped at a certain spot out in Wellesley, out by the college (their 10 watt station, WZLY 91.5, was not on the air).

It can actually be worse in Cambridge, Somerville, Boston, etc... even though it's closer to WMWM, because those areas are also much closer to adjacent interference from WMFO and WUMB.

Eli: I've picked up WMWM down in Hull (well, right across the water...) A couple weeks back I
was visiting my Dad on Cape Cod and as I drove back I found that WMWM was coming in, just
faintly, on Rt 3 in Pembroke (Jack Smith from our country show was filling in for the Juke Joint
and he was saying goodbye at 3 pm, etc.) It can pop up in various places.

mgpt6: we did lose coverage to the north when WNEF went on. We used to reach up toward
Rowley, etc. but when the UMass rebroadcaster, allegedly pointed away from Salem (a "null"
right?) went on, we barely reached past Wenham or Hamilton. It's around there where WNEF
starts coming in--and in fact in some parts of Beverly (like Rantoul St downtown or on 1-A
just north of 128), WNEF will start to fight out with our signal.

We have a promo we're running, with the voice of Scott Gorke, talking about how with our
online broadcasting, we can reach places like London, Khartoum, Los Angeles...
"even Saugus!" (goes into a Woody Woodpecker laugh). I know I have a regular listener
in Saugus just off Route 1 who had no computer and has to rely on our reg signal and usually
it's tough for him to pick up due to WUMB at 91.9

The coverage map, below, is a bit misleading; to the north (esp on 1 or 1-A) we start to lose out
to WNEF, and to the west and southwest we have to deal with WUMB or WMFO. To the south,
again, it's over the water so try us when you're in Hull (even with WUMB, a good digital car
radio will pick us up). On 128 in Wakefield, Reading, etc., and up Rt 28 into N. Reading it does come in.
