Interestingly enough, William, my secular job downsized salespeople with DECADES of experience. I don't think this is so uncommon, as people in sales are known to jump (or be pushed) from one opportunity to the next. A company generally wants to keep (or gain) its clients at the lowest expense to its bottom line. Only receptionists came and went so frequntly at one place I work, where the in-house rule was "Don't learn their names, don't get attached. They won't last." And generally, they really didn't.
RE: Questionable Ads, it is erroneous to say things like "Every snake oil salesman and dollar-a-holler scammer gets on the radio," at least at Salem. You haven't seen the memos instructing staff to "Send all calls from ______ directly to our Operations Manager," because a potential client's desired on-air content or product was unacceptable... despite money in hand.
