Salem Radio Network to Syndicate the ''Dan Proft Show''

https://news.****************/articles/n38054/Salem-Radio-Network-to-Syndicate-the-Dan-Proft-Show

Salem Radio Network will syndicate the "Dan Proft Show" on the SRN platform, beginning January 2 from 9pm to midnight. Proft will continue to co-host the morning show on News/Talk WIND-AM (AM 560 The Answer)/Chicago with Amy Jacobson. The new show will take the time slot vacated by Joe Walsh when he decided to run for President. Proft joined Salem Media Group as morning co-host of the "Dan and Amy" show in 2015, after a four-year stint co-hosting the morning show on crosstown WLS-AM.

Starting in 2020.

Interesting I wonder how long this will last last for, and even more interesting that his syndicated solo talk show is scheduled for nights, even at 9 PM to midnight, as people that do morning radio, to the best of my knowledge goes to bed in the early evening hours, to get up in the early morning hours to be on the air at either 5 or 6 AM depending on when their shift begins.

So Walsh has no home to go back to once he aborts his attempt to win the GOP nomination.

I am sure he will figure something out, but I doubt it will be a return to radio since he was sick and tired of doing a daily radio show, that is if he doesn't get the nomination.

Robert Feder also had it is his Robservations column yesterday https://www.robertfeder.com/2019/12...dio-boss-surpasses-dream-mary-sandberg-boyle/ , and he reported that the time is 8 to 11 PM, so the time that is in the article, I want to be sure is that eastern time? He reports that the show won't Abe heard here, just like Joe Walsh's syndicated show didn't here. Even through it was just a couple of hours after his Chicago ended, but still do they need a show guy to host a syndicated radio show?

And besides, I'm not sure if Salem would want Joe back. Lately (last several months) he's leaned moderate and has been critical of the president on Twitter. In Denver, KNUS let go someone who was critical of the president too.

I am sure that you are right, but Salem are not the only ones that own radio stations, you don't have to remember that he did start out as a fan and supporter of Donald Trump, but somewhere he has turned his back on him. Trump started to things that he didn't like, I don't know as I never listened to either his Chicago or his syndicated show. And don't forget even here in Chicago WGN Radio let Steve Cochran go and he was very critical of Donald Trump as well. So I guess the way to get a job in radio, is you either say good things of the president or say nothing at all. But either case I will very surprised if Joe Walsh makes a return to radio if he is not successful in the president election. One thing I am betting for sure that if he doesn't and Donald Trump is still allowed to serve as president if the United Sates, he will not be voting for him, as he would have lost 1 voter.

Wow, that's a long day. Maybe he'll get a nap in between? Could you imagine doing a three hour local Chicago show at 6am, go home for a while, then come back to do a national show from 8pm to 11pm Central?

And I wonder why Joe Walsh thought he should give up a steady radio job to be one of three Republicans with no hope of challenging Trump for the GOP nomination for President? A previous poster said he was tired of doing the radio show. Would you be tired if Salem paid you what I assume is six digits to host a three hour show, five days a week? Yeah, there's prep time but once you know how to do it, I don't think it's an eight hour job.

Of course, this is an outlier example, but especially in Chicago: Tom Joyner, who commuted daily between Dallas and Chicago from about '85 to '93. Morning drive in Dallas on K104 / KKDA-FM, afternoons in Chicago on WGCI-FM.
