Salem sells KLTY, six other CCM stations to EMF

I don’t know if “K-Love” is a national trademark yet but keeping the KLUV calls on one of the K-Love stations could solidify their brand and help to keep a potential “K-Love” or “K-Luv” station from signing on in a market where K-Love, Inc. doesn’t have a presence.

It is, though there are some areas where K-Love must get permission to use the name. North Texas, including Dallas/Ft. Worth, is no longer among them.

K Love is keeping 94.9 as KLTY due to heritage and it has KL in the calls. I’m not sure where the KLUV calls will end up but right now k love has them on a station in South Dakota so they control the call sign.

I believe they have the rights to the k love name everywhere now. The LA market being a special case where they have the right to broadcast the k love name over the air but all promotions like billboards they can’t use the name due to an agreement with Spanish language station on 107.5 using the klove name. The billboards just say positive and encouraging 100.3. I think in the legal ID I think they say the klove for CHristian music .

Another former KLTY host has found a new landing spot, as former afternoon & recently before shutdown morning show host Bonnie Curry will host a weekly Sunday morning Christian music show called Country Crossroads on Cumulus country station KPLX (99.5 The Wolf) from 8-10AM. Bonnie Curry OnAir

Both calls are heritage in this market. However, I think it's safe to say EMF won't be bringing the KLUV calls back to DFW anytime soon. Unless they can snag and put Vida on 93.3.

You can bet that K-Love Inc. is praying for an Audacy-Cumulus merger that would put a few FMs in play.

Of course they also need to pray that the FCC FM market cap isn’t increased to nine stations or more before such a merger happens. 😳

I don’t even think that has to happen at this point from what I’ve heard, but that’s another topic altogether. We all know Vida would make more sense on 93.3 than conservative talk BAP. Seriously, the only thing Cumulus is going to do is switch it back to urban/hip-hop anyways.

KLTY sub-channels almost after twenty days of silence, it has came back on the air. HD2 is Air1, and HD3 is K-LOVE Eras! As of typing KYDA is missing in action on 101.7 FM.
