Salem

Salem Radio. a fine conservative Christian company OR just in it for the $$$$$$ ? some friends of mine have been given the shaft recently by Salem. let's just say they were not treated in a Christian way! maybe Salem is getting ready to sell stations. I heard that may be coming.

I believe they are getting ready to sell underperforming stations.

Having never worked for Salem, I don't know exactly what the situation is. I have worked for both
secular and Christian broadcasting companies. I've been treated nicely - and been shafted - by both.
In all honesty, there was very little difference between them. THAT would make me ashamed, if I were
a Christian broadcasting company.

Because Salem is publicly-traded, unfortunately, it becomes all about the bottom line. I don't really think it's an "either/or" situation, but rather a Christian company in business to make money.

I've always taken issue with-- making $$$ by any means and treating people like crap. (but I think even clear channel in its mission statement says something about treating employees with respect! all companies likely say that for legal reasons!)

It's one thing to say it. It's another to have a track record of treating people with respect.
