Of course salespeople move from station to station all the time, but I heard two of WTQR's top salespeople have defected to the Wolf. These are people who have been there for years. Doesn't bode well for WTQR. Wonder how they avoided non-competes. Anybody got details?

No details, but as far as I know a "non-compete clause" in the State of North Carolina doesn't hold any water or legal standings. I just talked to a friend who is a "broadcast attorney" in NC and he told me being that NC is a "right to work state" that is unenforceable. Some of the "Evil Empires" scare tactics.. Anybody ever been held to one in NC??

In order for a non-compete to be enforced, it has to contain three things:

1) Consideration (generally cash)
2) It must be reasonable in length (period of time)
3) It must be reasonable in terms of the geographical area covered

There, I just saved you at least 600 dollars on legal fees. I would think that many judges could be swayed these days by people who are just attempting to make a living.

It would be if it were the other way around. Entercom is more stable than CC, from everything I've seen and heard.
 
Note to Christopher Chenn: We all get it. You got fired from Enercom and you do not like the people there. Sorry it's hard for you to move on. By the way, everyone knows who you are. Good luck in politics.
 
Heard about another sales move today! Heard 94.1 is losing their top salesperson. I hear he's getting out of radio altogether. Now 94.1 will be faced with trying to find a salesperson who hasn't heard about how insane it is to work there! Good luck. Most anyone who knows the biz wouldn't go there on a bet!

As soon as I get into politics I will battle for the limit on how many stations a group can own. The changing of the original rule, which was a good one, is a major reason radio has deteriorated to where it is today.

Talking about losing the top salesperson....Is anyone selling anything in this economy? I wouldn't think so! I would believe most of the media salespeople are "starving".. Does Bob King sell enough vehicles to justify all that total BS Hype that they put on TV and Radio?? I've said before..due to those and Hogewoods commericals, I would NEVER buy anything from either one of those yo yos!

for steering them in the right direction.

Good comment eyewittness .. seems there are programming, sales, and management experts all over who certainly know all the ends and outs of broadcasting. Wonder where they work and what they do?
 
"Where do they work and what do they do?" Very good,Moonshine. People who object to the demise of a once beloved industry obviously have no business giving vent to their opinions. As to where they work and what they do, well gee, Moonshine, clearly they are not working in an industry as important and vital as radio. Certainly they have not realized that there is a great big wide world outside of a production studio or a sales cubicle and have moved on. Why if they are not in radio, Moonshine, they MUST be losers. Right?

Maybe if you tell yourself that line of crap everyday you might one day actually believe it. It might even help you get a decent night's sleep. But then I hear that sociopaths usually sleep very well.
