Salt Lake City loses Smooth Jazz station

KBZN 97.9 in Salt Lake City dropped Smooth Jazz for AC. I find their AC format very interesting. "Even a Fool Can See" by Peter Cetera is one of the songs I heard. Keep it up!

But, their Format ID line on the HD Radio (or, is it RDS?) says "Rock".

I talked to one of their DJs last week, while setting up for a big, multi-station event. He said that there just wasn't enough money/listenership anymore for the SJ format.
KBZN means "The Breeze", although it might have been alluding to "Breezin'" at one time, hence the "N".

While surfing the local Clear Channel websites yesterday (looking for "changes"), I saw an ad saying Smooth Jazz is now available on KJMY-FM HD-2 (99.5 MHz).
Guess what I listened to all night? ;D

I would have thought that KBZN would have lost a little in their 12+ numbers, but it appears to have remained pretty much the same at 1.8. It's a shame they decided to add yet another AC format in the market with the same 300 songs. You hear the same song every 1.5 days.
