Folks, I know most of the posting goes on at another board but let's wake this board up before they delete it.
I moved to SLC in mid December 05. I also am a Sirius subscriber but have spend a good majority of time listening to what the FM has to offer us. My musical tastes hang around Hot AC, Country and some Alternative. My wife is into the basically the same but no hard rock/alt stuff. Below is a brief overview of my listening thus far:
93.3 K-Bull: Excellent upbeat presentation. Great jingles and excellent promos. I am confused on one point however. Are they the NEW country leader or the NEW COUNTRY leader?
99.1/5 My 99-5: I really like the auto back-sell feature that some CC channels offer. It's clean and uncluttered. Good Hot AC music as well.
100.3 FM100: I like the Sunday Sounds. Don't find myself listening other days. Too soft for me
101.5 The Eagle: Good country station. Weak reception gives impression of a weak overall presentation.
101.9 The End: Love chunga & mister. Great morning show bits and games. Good music mix of new and old. Easy to listen to.
102.7 KSL-FM: Good to have a news/talk station on the FM dial. Sounds pretty good. Wish it was just a news station.
103.1 Jack-FM: I love Jack-FM. Great attitude and good song mix. Again with the weak signal discourages regular listening.
104.3 Cowboy: This "hometown" style country station is more low-key and mellow with their presentation. Seems to play a lot better mix of music. Microphones sound like crap though.
106.5 KOSY: Way too soft for me. Wife likes it though.
107.5 Mix: Not enough time listening yet. Apparently also simulcasts at 103.9. Am curious though. there are a lot of hot ac's here.
107.9 Country Legends: I like the old timey stuff here. The VO guy sounds like the Classic Country that was in Sacramento at 92.1 awhile back.
Honorable mention for 98.7 The Bee: just another hot ac it seems.. kinda blends in there with the rest.
NOTE: This is in no way a list of all the stations in SLC. These are the ones I've had a listen to in some fashion in the few months I have lived here. I am also trying to remember listening to X96 at some point to get a feel for that station.
Please respond with your thoughts/opinions. Let's wake this board up!
Thanks
