This afternoon when I got out of work , I went on line , checked out anything relating with Philly media, and all of a sudden.....my eyes popped open, my heart was pumpin', and sweat poured out and down my brow...as I saw the return of a rural suburban , rimshot Philly legend.....since the days of 'FIL, WIBBAGE, Hyski, or even the Rockin' bird, those legends never received the glamour or even attention (at least as far as this board is concerned) as this infamous icon I am saluting once again......But I got get this off my chest, my mind, my passion, my desire (oh stop it!)........ yes folks, I am saluting Mr. Brokered Powered, New year's eve of the airwaves at 10 o' clock , AM radio 1000 watt of directional power toward the sea of a personality.......(Drum Roll or Drum sticks more like it ...) MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiikke Phillips. (Applause anyone?)........ well anyway Congratulations Mike on your continued comeback career in broadcasting.
I knew you pull it off again brother. No one has the desire like you even in the worst economic times who would donate their unemployment check to entertain the listeners (well at least in a 4 mile radius.) and after a failed internet TV show (Since Rosie's variety show ) where you had a little too much to drink where you had several of us concerned and notified the police while you passed out on us while leaving your low powered Channel 7 tapes playing......... You've done it again.
You've come along way man....especially since that forgotten event and now you made extravagant strides that know other personality ever has made. Working in market No. 31,072 all the way to the Big Apple as a sidekick on a Freak Show. ( the hell with American Idol) YOU GOT IT GOING! WORK IT OUT MAN. You know longer need Live 365, or WNJC that station that made you... (broke),
As far as I read on your comeback, you can now turn your back on those brokered broadcast days, because now working as a sidekick, you are now paid in promotional material. Good job, because after every broadcast day you'll get to take home promotional items like NOW logos , bumper stickers, or when the next Harry Potter book or Mylie Cyrus CD comes out, you'll get to take one home, (Hey see if you can get me a copy).
Hey Mike ...do a few years of this sidekickin'...and I know what will happen later.... history will be made as you'll be the first broadcaster to be paid in commission. That can pay alot more in salary if you bring up those tenth of a rating points. You might earn a real paycheck. You'll know longer have to dress up everyday in that red Phillies jersey of yours.
