Sam Clover's delivery of traffic on KYW

Anybody have any opinions on his performance of the traffic? First there's the weather, then it's north,I mean south,westbound I mean eastbound That's aside from KYW being minutes away from being a infomercial
 
Very interesting to think about actually. I do the traffic on my shift at WGLS. Lemme tell you it is not nearly as easy as you think it would be. For someone like myself who has a bad case of ADHD, all the numbers and eb, wb, nb, or sb, it takes all your concentration. Sam has a very monotone sort of voice, so it does not exactly grab your attention.
 
Don't forget, he and other announcers at Total Traffic Networks (owned by IHeartRadio) is doing traffic on four different stations (give or take). They work from a computer screen giving all traffic incidents in the region. What they see is not much different from what you'd see on their website (a bit more detailed and with more abbreviations). They generally keep the stations one person works geographically separated, so after doing a report for KYW he's likely to do one for Vineland. And he usually does a report every two or three minutes; not a lot of time to think. What happens is, he ends up doing the same report for everybody even if Vineland couldn't care less about a back-up on the Blue Route.

The bigger question is since smartphones or Internet-connected car audio systems can do robo-voice traffic alerts immediate and customized for your specific location and route, why do we need one size fits all traffic reports on the radio?

Did I hear wrong or was today Mikes last show, this guy is fantastic I always enjoyed hearing his delivery and music selection. Is he leaving school and going on to greener pastures...he will be hard to replace....and surly missed.
 
KY W Tuesday7'02 he stumbled again have no idea what he was talking about When he stumbled on a specific exit, Am I the only one that hears this on a daily basis?
 
Yesterday it was there's an accident in that the Penswashington Ave exit on 95 Today it's an accident on the Atlantic City Expressway south Err eastbound direction.
