Sam Malone on KSEV this morning

Headed to work and scanned over to 700am to listen to Edd Hendee. He was off today, but to my surprise Sam Malone was filling in for him. I have to admit, I more enjoy listening to him on a talk format, then spinning top 40 pop.

Now that Pat Grey has moved onto Glenn Beck's national show, I wonder is Sam will be riding shotgun w/ Edd in the near future.
 
I remember when Malone went to CC to be on MIX and KTRH. It was obvious they were grooming him for a future in talk radio. The format is filled with angry, paranoid screamers. They need people like him to make it mass appeal. Hopefully he'll leave his trademark "see ya" on FM.
 
No...he signed off w/ "see ya" this morning.

I didn't get to listen long enough to know how well versed he is on political issues. The whole time I had him on he talked about Tiger Woods. Blach, that is not news to me.
 
Sam has joined Edd in the morning. I think they 'll make a great team. They already have a pretty good chemistry after only a week together.

I heard Sam yesterday doing the show solo...he was gingerly tiptoing around the subject of health care with a caller who happened to be a nurse and while broaching the subject from the station house (conservative) perspective, he obviously displayed his discomfort by the way he steered the conversation...
 
First of all to whomever said they heard Sam and Edd together is lieing. Edd is suffering the loss of his 33 year old son. The funeral was held at Second Baptist Church. Sam is completely awesome and he is well respected in this market. Dan is always thinking. Think about it, those that work at KSEV are working for Dan, not some big corporation that can't pay their bills!

I don't think anybody said that they were together. Your post on this revived thread is the 1st since January 27th. This is March 1st. Check the time frame on the posts.
 
They were on together several days before Christmas. Then Sam subbed for Edd when he went on vacation. I listen to Edd's show EVERY day and I sure wouldn't LIE. Geesh, maybe you should check your facts before you call someone a liar. I'm no expert in the radio business, but I'm a HUGE fan and evidently know more than you about Edd Hendee's show.
 
I'll tune by the Dallas "affiliate" KVCE on the way to and from work and I've heard Sam doing afternoons for DP and DP doing mornings in Ed's absence.
I keep thinking that this guy is one of the more engaging talk hosts I've heard in a long time. Thumbs up from one KVCE's two listeners.
I admit to having it preset on the car radio.

My condolences to Ed and his family.
 
Chuck Tiller, you're my man. I worked at KENR in the 70's. ARB #1 in afternoon drive. (Robert McIntire was #1 on KILT.) Henry.
