SAM MALONE OUT! Who should take his place?

I'm thinking that Paul Christy could replace Sam Malone. He's done mornings before. Oh - Forget that idea, he's already been fired from that station!

Walton and Johnson. They need to be back on an FM signal.
These two dudes scare the sh** out of me. They sound like those type of hicks who sit outside their trailer all day with a confederate flag hanging in their frontyard and they cling to their guns whenever they see an African American or Latino and say "Youuuu lost Boaaaahhhyyyy?!?!?!? We Don' like you'r kind 'round heeeeer, You'v best bee Goouunnn". Scary Sh**. Anyways, I don' see these yahoos on KHMX, it doesn't fit the format. I just can't see them talk about how latinos are trying to take over this country; and then go on a break by playing Shakira!!!! I'd say they're doing fine just where they are at right now.

Of course you might want to hold off on any talent speculation until we find out who the new owner of KHMX will be. The current format could be axed for something radically different in the very near future.

Paul Christy could still be a possibility. He wasnt fired for anything he did. He was let go but would he want to go back? The reason i say W&J is whoever buys KHMX might not keep the mix format. I hope they dont.. be nice to have something different at that frequency.

Paul should hook up with Jackie Robbins. She is a great talent who still lives in the area and has a big following from Q-Zoo days. They used to work together and would be fun to listen to.

An endless loop of canned sweeps with station X dubbed over station Y's calls?

Take heed because I travel the USA a lot and I'm hearing this at an alarming rate.
Gets pretty bad when they're to cheap to even V-T the stations!

As much as I'd like to hear them, I don't think we'll be hearing a reunion of Ted Carson and Paul Christy any time soon. My speculation would be that the new owner would put on something different than what is currently being offered in the market, if they had any sense.

MIX has consistently been in the top 3 in cume in the monthly PPM and was in the top 10 in share for September. Of course, it depends on who buys MIX, but it seems people are listening to the station, which is surprising, considering how CC has done just about nothing to inject much life into the station.

If there are enough listeners to support the format, which the numbers seem to show there is, the new owners might want to build upon what is already in place. I just don't see why a station that is that high in cume gets blown up. Modified, yes, but completely wiped out, I don't see why.

where is Ted Carson??? I would be great to have 97 Rock return or even Z107. ::)

My guess is it will be Kidd Kraddick's syndicated morning show. It is a Premiere Radio Network show, and KHMX is a CC station. His show is on a lot of Hot AC stations, and is on in most markets in the state, with the exception of Houston. I think in this cost cutting business, it will be the road they will take.

KHMX is being sold, but you knew that, right? Of course that wouldn't prevent the new owners from picking up Kraddick.

I did know that it was a possibility that they were one of the stations being tossed around with KLOL. I had not heard of a buyer for KHMX yet. Is there one? That's even more of a reason for them to stick Kraddick's show in there for the time being. Why put a lot of money into a morning show, when you are going to be selling this property off.
