Samim's "Heater - Top 20 on Wild 104 Mcallen, Tx

Party 105 is not in the Hamptons, it's in lovely Bohemia/Ronkonkoma, my(and Vic Latino's) hometown, a far drive from The Hamptons!

Party still covers the Hamptons as their main Party Area,,,, Nothing wrong with that. Nobody knows where Calverton-Roanoke is,,,,,, Besides that, their stick is actually located in Manorville, out in the Pine Barons, but not far from a few fancy housing divisions. GEEZ, what id give to live in one of those fancy houses right by Party's tower....... Anyway, speaken of party, the only thing wrong with them and Heater, is Party plays a very Choppy Edit of the song, cuts it down to under 3 minutes............. I am shocked to see Wild 104 playing it, since Wild 104 is more of a Latin Friendly rhythmic right on the Mexico boarder, im surprised they would play any Dance at all, so Kudo's to them. I wouldnt have been a bit surprised if XHTO 104.3 HIT FM had added it, and they still could eventually. They already have a few dance records in rotation, and always tend to play at least one or Two Dance songs in rotation at a time. They even played Hey There Delilah when it was popular so although XHTO is Rhythmic, they tend to make exceptions.

It would be cool if my local dance friendly CHR would add heater, but I doubt they will since their playlist probably doesnt have any more extra room for Dance titles at this time wihtout alienating the Whiner's, plus WBWB would most likely not play an instrumental. Another station that could add Heater is Fun 107 in New Bedford, their about as Dance friendly as WBWB, except WBWB plays alot more POP Dance Remixes, and Fun 107 usually plays the original hit version, but I would say they both play the same amount of True Pure Dance tracks.

Okay, I just clicked on Wild 104s stream and stopped by their website. When I first clicked on they were playing the Dancier Remix of Rhianna-Dont stop the music. I also saw Leona Lewis-Bleeding love in their top rotation. They are now called The valleys party station, and dont seem to be positioning themselves as Hip Hop and Reggeaton anymore. Wild 104 could be a station to keep an eye on in the coming months. This station is number one for Illegal Immigrants...LOL......(not kidding, it really is)... The mcallen market can be a very dangerous and poverty stricken place, but its looking like they know how to party at least.

Okay, time for an Update, Wild 104 is playing heater right now at 10:53 Pm Indiana time. This is a totally differnet mix than ive ever heard, alot more uptempo, and this remix contains some Spanish Samples, so its a good fit for the market.

LOL they just segued it into some Rap song that goes Moo dem butt moo dem butt moo dem butt cheeks..... ;D lol

Okay, believe it or not, they are now playing another instrumental Electro Dance track. Acording to the player the song playing is Cream-Federico Franchi...

They still have some sweepers that mention Hip hop and Reggeaton, but as long as they are playing Dance, i dont care.

Here's another one for ya Jimi....... ;)

Yeah, that came on at 11:00 right after the last dance track, then I flipped it to XHTO 104.3 and heard a Dance song I couldnt identify within 10 minutes of listening.

The song is currently Top 10 at the station. Kudos to them for finding some good Dance music to play at the station 8)
As for Samim's "Heater" keep your on KZZA 106.7 Dallas (remember when they were all-Dance as 106.7 KDL? Not to be confused with 103.1 in L.A.) as they're the ideal station to add it:
http://www.mediabase.com/mmrweb/AllAccess/Stations.asp?c_let=KZZA-FM

Of course it would be awesome if Power 96 Miami adds it as everyone that clubs in Miami has known it for like a year, or what about Wild 94.9 San Francisco?

Wow! I'm listening to Wild 104's 5 oclock mix, good stuff! House, Trance, Hard Dance. Let's just say Lalumia would have a heart atack with his "radio can't play that stuff" philosophy ;D Keep in mind, this is the NUMBER ONE radio station in the Rio Grande Valley. Let me repeat that - this station is the undispured market leader.

Looking at that mediabase site you think that is Johnny O who made those freestyle tracks? That is probally why the station is playing dance

Yeah Chrles, I think KPWR Los Angeles could get away with playing that Spanish Flavored mix of heater as well, and still keep their Hip Hop branding. Isanyone familier with that other dance track from Wild 104, and BTW what would the Dance song on XHTO have been? I havent heard either song on any pure dance station's, so kudo's for Texas for being on top of some dance on their Rhythmic stations. Also, id like to add that the new party 93.3 in houston could add a few dance tracks as well. KPTY was pretty Dance friendly back before they switched to the most recent 104.9 frequency. Anyone remember Hot 97.1 in Houston, They leaned Urban but liked to spike in a few dance tracks as well. Latin Markets are great for Dance as long as they are programed right with latin/urban friendly Dance tracks. And yeah, KZZA might add a Dance record or two eventually, especially if it has a latin flavor. We are seeing more latin friendly, and especially Urban friendly dance hits that our out now, this could really help the Rhythmics add more Dance. Plus, when you got superstars like Rhianna doing her POP-Dance hit Dont stop the music, and Enur Calabria, that helps put a buffer between the pure hip hop and pure dance and helps listeners not to be so surprised or turned off it they hear a 4/4 beat from time to time. Right now id say that Wild 104 and XHTO Hit Fm are definately the place to hear current dance in Southern Texas, Mexico Boarder.... I wonder if Jammin Z-90 will take note and start to add a dance song or two. Maybe even a little on 98.9 San Diego, the calls slip my mind at the moment. I wouldnt be too surprised to see WPYO pick up a Dance song or two eventually, since they are almost a clone of WPOW except WPYO, the old 95.3 Party is still not suporting dance at this time.

Actually, KZZA already added Dance songs awhile back...the ones playing on Power 96. They give about 15 spins to both David Guetta and Bob Sinclar (or was it to Ida Corr?).
As for Wild 104, I've actually heards that Electro track before on a number of stations from Europe (like Radio FG) in the mix.

One thing ive lately noticed about Wild 104 is they have a very tight shallow playlist. They replay their Powers way too often, about every hour and 20 minutes.

Power 96 rotates its powers just as much.
Looks like Wild 104 added Ida Corr's "Let Me Think About It" to regular rotation as well.
I wonder if the new Hot 95.7 Houston will play some Dance as well. We'll find it tommorow :)

I will NEVER forget when I was at Club Space in Miami about a year ago and Robbie Rivera dropped this track... The entire club stopped LOL Everybody was like what in the hell is this song? So the next weekend, one of the residents played it and everybody loved it. It's a cool litle tune to say the least but very diferent which is why people either loveit or hate it... In Miami, this song's nickname is "The Polka Song" haha

While it's always a suprise to see stations that aren't known to play dance music actually playing it, this isn't that far fetched. The sample used in the song is from a famous 40's traditional Columbian folk tune. It actually may be even older than that.

With a high concentration of Mexican and Central Americans living in some of the markets mentioned, I'd bet the sample is highly recognized and therefore creates a nice reaction. The question is will the much bigger markets get it? Miami is a good example but then again they are a very dance friendly market.

In Europe there have already been a bunch of sound-a-like tracks done so this did have some traction over there.

I like Robbie Rivera,,, have you heard his new song,,, (Back to Zero)??????

Tiesto has been playing a bunch of Robbie Rivera tracks on his radio show lately.
Samim's "Heater" is now Top 10 at Wild 104 ;D

Yeah, Heater is in Power rotation on Wild 104, you can hear it about every hour and a half. Thats good though, it will push it up the rhythmic charts. The remix Wild plays is actually better than the original, and has some Spanish samples in it, so its good for a hispanic market like Mcallen. If you flash back to one year ago, Wild 104 played no dance music at all, and played alot more Reggeaton, which im not hearing anymore unless you want to count Pitbull, but to me The Anthem is more like a Latin Hip House track.
