I'm not sure why I'm explaining myself to someone who doesn't appear to understand scheduling, but here we go:

Sean Paul into Christina Aguilera / Lil Kim = Power rotation current into Rhythm Pop gold with high familiarity.

Christina Aguilera / Lil Kim into Kelly Clarkson = Rhythm Pop gold with high familiarity into pure pop current.

Kelly Clarkson into Bubba Sparxx / Ying Yang Twins = pure pop current into rap new music.

Photograph... ever heard of a recurrent, midwestclubber?

Rihanna- SOS... dance-esqe pop out of a whiny guitar recurrent.

Each quarter hour should be an accurate representation of what your radio station is, correct? Okay, in this quarter hour (plus about six minutes, yes), I have shown that my radio station plays Rhythmic hits, Pop hits, Rock hits, and Rap hits, but also plays some older records that my core (a 27-30 year old female) still enjoys. In this quarter hour, I've shown that my radio station is balanced and can be enjoyed by the entire CHR audience.

The funny thing, midwestclubber, is that you've always had nothing but great things to say about the radio station that I programmed "in the real world." This is exactly how I would have scheduled that hour if I were still MD of that radio station, so why are you whining about it here? Remember, you have to also "hear" a sweep in your head when you look at these sample logs. You can't just go by "oh, artist so and so looks out of place here."

Probably the only real mistake I made in this hour was putting Jay-Z / Linkin Park next to Fort Minor. If you don't know why that's a mistake, then you don't need to be replying in this thread (not directed at you specifically, midwestclubber).

Ha, I had a feeling that was you Aaron. I thought your sample hour was great. Perhaps Midwestclubber lives in a city where they don't play some of the Recurrents you mentioned?
Personally I love the Bubba Sparxx record.

PS in regards to the Canton CHR, have you noticed that Kiss in Cleveland is now also playing Ashley Parker (Top 20 in rotation)? So much for the claim that the record is a stiff. Or that a number of influential CHR/Pop stations (from different parts of the country) upped the spins of Chamillionaire this past week?

A lot of people just want Q-92 to be a clone of Kiss Cleveland, but I doubt that if Kasper was also the MD of WZKL the two stations would actually sound the same. After all, Kasper previously worked at successful CHRs like Star 104 Erie and K-92 Roanoke. Both of them sound very different from Kiss FM in Cleveland, or from the big market CHRs they're close to (Pittsburgh's Kiss FM in Star 104's case, and Hot 99.5 D.C. in K-92's case).

You can't even bash Q-92 for playing "Animals" by Nickleback, as 98.5 KRZ Wilkes Barre played it as well. I dare you to find one person who'd be dumb enough to bash a legendary CHR like KRZ.

...No way... Aaron, Whats up Dawg.. I actually really like the Bubba Sparxx record alot, But it did seem a bit outta place being played after the two female pop records, maybe its just me, Which I personally do like Kelly Clarkson as an artist. The main thing that looked outta place was that Photograph was still listed, as if to be in fairly good rotation, while most stations I know of have pretty much stopped playing it. Perhaps I need more than a 30 minute sample hour to be able to accurately judge.

I like how you mixed in some 1990s Eurodance into your playlist. It still sounds as fresh today as it did back then, and it brings back some great memories of the wonderful pop era of yesteryear. Good CHR-POP stations aren't afraid to play music from that era occasionally.

> 4/7/2006 11:55:00 PM Color Me Badd All 4 Love

It's a good song from a band that never really got the respect I think they deserved. They were like the lone 'boy band' of their era - post New Kids On The Block and pre Backstreet Boys / 'N Sync. They put out some great breezy pop music during the early-1990s. "All 4 Love" was one of my favourites. I also loved "Choose".

Cool playlist, nothing bad to say about it except its kinda leaning towards rhythmic.

Two-for-Tuesday??

> JAY-Z / LINKIN PARK- Numb / Encore
> FORT MINOR- Where'd You Go

Watch out for these two back-to-bcak...Fort Minor is Mike Shinoda's (from Linkin Park) side project.

LOL, yeah, I know. I acknowledged this mistake below. I posted the original hour while slightly under the influence after a long night of weekend partying. :)<P ID="signature">______________

Oh stop already. More proof you don't know what you're talking about and just looking to see what you're throwing against the wall that will actually stick.
