Sorry Purple I stole your catch phrase and used it, haha.

Hot's still not doing the greatest, and neither is Yo and KTFM. KBBT and KXXM are winning the top 40 battle, it seems. I still like KBBT for not speeding up the music (like Cold does now). Woops I mean hot.

KKYX is still above Bull, but it's not doing great itself either. If you ask me the market's overcrowded with generic country stations and needs local Texas country on an in-market signal, but I'm not a radio owner.

K289BN 105.7 is the only translator showing up, and they're doing well but I don't speak Spanish so I'm not in the audience.

More proof 94.1 is horribly programmed. All the hype and the attention just to get the same results. LOL!! Remember folks, 94.1 was at the top years ago so it's not the frequency, just bad programming.

Hot- disappointed. I really thought Micki Gamez would have a major impact on Hot.

Yo!- there's no consistency with this station. One week it leans Hip Hop and other weeks it leans towards Rhymthic AC.

You have good points SARadio, and apparently I need to learn how to spell "Beauty pageant".

I wasn't the one to coin "beauty pageant", can't take the credit there. First user I ever heard turn that phrase for the 6+ was ol' jd, when we were still doing this here thing at radio-info. God bless, jd, he was a good one.

Anyway, bite your tongue wanting to change 680 to anything other than the good ol' boy, steel guitar playing, bronco busting country music its been playing all these glorious years. Texas Country, smh. Who are you, b-turner? Hahaha...

I'd like to know what KZEP is doing where it counts. Hard to imagine it's making much of an impact on The Beat. The heavy loaded billboard campaign doesn't appear to have helped. I swear, it seemed like 90% of the boards around town had Hot 104-5 at one point. There were two on 10, just past Probandt, on either side of the freeway. Talk about your overkill.

Would it really be all that surprising if iHeart ends up flipping Preciosa to the flamethrowing 104-5 signal, while flopping Hot to the more compact 105-7 translator?

Yea, 94.1 is garbage. And it's not surprising that Blondie and Nugget are gone .I saw that coming. And it's too bad cause I really liked tgem. Now that other new chik they kept it looks like. Probably gonna get an all hispanic morning show that more "appeals" to the people. just my hunch .I bet if Xavier is still out of a job, he got a call.Or do they go syndication like most other have? In my pipe dream, they would switch 1033 to the 94.1 signal and rebrand it as The Amp or something like that .But I think the whole app thing probably works better with them .

I'm sorry, what? You'll have to back that claim up, saradio. 94-1, as K-Rio, KLEY, or any one of the many incarnations of KTFM, has never been "at the top years ago". Bad programming or not, the Floresville stick does handicap any efforts put forth on the facility. If you meant KTFM itself, well, there's participating members here that weren't even alive when 103 KTFM actually topped the ratings in SA.

You do the research if you are that curious. 94.1 was at the top when it launched with its 70's and 80's format.

Sorry, I wasn't the one to make that claim. You did, and I challenged it. Let's see those numbers, and if you can back it up, I'll gladly admit to my ignorance of its occurrence. I'd certainly provide the same had I made such a statement about a station over here in Houston.

I've wondered about JD, and all the others. I guess they have found better things to do than post on these forums, but it would be nice if they could pop in sometimes and say hi, LOL I hope they're doing well.

I agree, way too much advertising. Too much advertising for something makes me not want it personally LOL.

No I wouldn't be surprised. If you remember back in 2012 they had hip-hop on Wild 105.7 after Cox was talking about launching Hot 106.7. Cox apparently got cold feet and backed out though and Wild continued for almost another year and a half. LOL even if K289BN flipped to something else, hip-hop's still in 105's history which can't be erased. :p

I had a pretty close online friendship with jd, Mouse. I've talked to him at length over many different facilities around here, while other times it was just a hey, checking up on you message, seeing how retirement was treating him, he'd ask about Angie, and we'd just shoot the breeze, as we say down here. We spoke pretty regularly, until this site went down. I guess I let 2 or 3 months go by, before I realized I hadn't spoken to Jack, so I dropped a lengthy line. We all know how it goes, busy at work, wife's got a list of things she'd like to see accomplished yesterday, child graduating from high school, and well, the time simply slipped away. A day or two goes by, no response. Another couple, still nothing. Drop another line, still nary a word. I've called his number, disconnected.

Mouse, I'm afraid that we've lost jd. Can't confirm it, and I've looked online several times for an obituary with no success, but that's my assumption. Knowing him the way I had come to, there is just no other explanation for it. He wasn't a young man.
