KBBT "The Beat" pulls ahead of the Top 40 pack. It's a little too early to say but Party 97-7 might have some part to do with this since KISS also recd small increase from 2.3 to 2.8.
KQXT tumbles down from 8.3 to 3.8

No surprise here but X106.7 still the lowest 100,000 watt station in the market. How soon before Cox flips X?

What will Cox flip X106.7 to? I hope they flip it to the same music 97.7 used to play. They could call it "106X."

They better get some DJs if they want the station to succeed. They're the lowest because they have no on-air talent.

Doesn't make any sense to flip X106.7 to Active Rock when KISS is owned by the same company. What they flip 106.7 to is anyone's guess.. it's been just about everything.

The problem with X106.7 is the format. The lack of air talent isn't the problem. A perfect example of this is Jack FM, no air talent but yet profitable.

I say another month or two before the format wheel spin on 106.7.

I listen to this and KZEP about equally, yet I couldn't tell you the name of a single DJ on KZEP. I'm not listening to the radio for song intros and liners.

I would have to agree, on air personalities is not what is keeping them from success. As on air talent a lot of us tend to get into the frame of mind that stations without jocks are doomed to fail. That is not reality. There are plenty of examples of successful jockless stations. Jack being one of the local ones.

Creativity wins...Original thinking wins...

Not just music, not just jocks.

I like to hear both, but not so much if liners and intros is all they do.

LOL, what's wrong with KBBT being ahead of the other stations? What does that have to do with Schools and Parents?

KBBT is my favorite station, and it has been ever since it launched back in 2000.

if you start listening to listeners.... you will soon be a listener.

If you remember that the telephone is not an audience measurement device, particularly incoming calls, and that concerts and clubs are not representative of a wide cross section of your listeners, consulting the listeners in any form of organized, proportional consultation is a good idea.

What does hurt is the "Gotta play more System of a Down; I was at a club last night and the audience went wild for their old songs." Yeah, the drunk listeners, some of whom were spening too much time in the rest room stalls, were really gonna tell you how to do radio for 9 AM in the morning.
