SAN DIEGO 1700 TURNS TO THE LEFT

Has anyone noticed how San Diego 1700 has seemingly shifted to the left in its talk show hosts?

Well publicized was the addition of Stacy Taylor several weeks ago, but in the last week it would seem that they have dropped Lars Larsen for "Lionel" and relegated Neal Boortz from 4-5 a.m.weekdays and a few hours on the weekend.

And that's a good thing.

Alan Colmes has been picked up on KGIL 1260 (LA) and 540 (SD) in the 7pm to 10 pm time slot. Looks like there is a market for Liberal Radio here and the stations are looking to fill the void. (now a lot of people don't like Colmes because he plays the stereotypical weak Liberal to Hannity)

So now you have Taylor 3p-6p, Colmes 7p to 10p. By 10, most can pick up KGO pretty easily on a car radio from 10 PM to 1 PM (Karel), 1PM to 4PM (Ray Taliefero). And Michael Jackson 9am to 11am and 540. Also rumors of Ed Schultz coming soon to 1260/540 soon.

That's been my prediction for a month now, so I hope you are correct!

My second prediction is that Ed will replace Ray Lucia on KASH 1700 (I love saying the old slogan...it's so satisfying...makes me feel like a million bucks, especially given how escalated their dial position is. Did you hear Stacy the other day say that he had heard of digital radios that wouldn't even read out 1710kHz on the dial? lol ).

There's no question that 540/1260/1700 are paying attention to the so CAL liberal talk market and Clear channel's problems, and are taking advantage of former disgruntled listeners to KTLK and KLSD.
