ps: another dud SD radio format idea I missed:

91X from c.1978-Jan 83 before they began their alternative rock format.
Always trailed KGB and KPRI for years until they reformatted in 1983 as "Rock of the 80s."

And I believe that Escondido's 92.1 back in the 80s was rock and roll for a short time, but I'm guessing it lasted a couple of years c.1981-82<P ID="signature">______________

And remember their morning show: John and Mary? Mary Curran had been doing the news at KPRI before moving over to 91X. For many years now she has been a Union Tribune reporter: Mary Curran-Downey.
