Yesterday, KIFM, a Smooth AC station owned by Lincoln Financial Media, shifted to soft AC, and relaunched as "Easy 98.1". The station sounds like Easy 93.1 out of Miami (which, ironically, competes with LFM's more mainstream WLYF- inspiration, or just irony?) In my opinion, it sounds rather good, albeit a bit repetitive. The airstaff is still at the station, in the same slots.

KIFM hadn't been a real Smooth AC station for some time, in that they played zero instrumental content. Before they were pretty much a Soft AC with a slight rhythmic/soft urban edge.
I believe KIFM was an AC station before they went smooth jazz, so this is probably a sort of coming full circle.
