San Francisco Bay Area Newspaper Channel Line-Up

While looking at the different newspaper for Bay area channel lineup. I notice some of the line-up are missing from the weekly TV times and daily. For example. In the San Francisco Chronicle. The daily TV section shows KCSM on Channel 43 instead of 60. If you have DTV, PSIP for KCSM shows on 60.1 instead of 43.1. KCNS 38, and KCRA 3 only shows on the daily tv grids, not the weekly TV times posted on Sundays. Also, SF Chronicle omits these channels in their line-up. KSBW 8, KCBA 35, and KSMS 67 from Salinas. KUVS 19, KSPX 29, KMAX 31, KQCA 58, and KTFF 64 from Sacramento/Stockton. Last they don't post KTLN 68 in the Chronicle line-up. Will the San Francisco Chronicle fixed their glitched and errors in the TV Guide section? Its seems odd that they missed label KCSM [43] instead of [60] and omit KTLN [68] from their channel line-up.

Does KCSM ID themselves as channel 43 instead of 60 now, as well as use 43 in their PSIP instead of 60? Also, as KTLN is a religious station, they may feel that religious channels aren't important enough to list.

Titan TV does this too. It will ID some stations by digital number even though they are using their analog as their virutal channel

KCSM was IDing as 43-1 for a while, but the FCC ordered them to map to 60-1 instead, as the rules require.

Odd that the FCC would so order KCSM, yet KAIL 53.1 Fresno is allowed to ID as 7.1. Or did the FCC do an about face on that recently?

I don't know. It's possible they will get after KAIL at some point, but I honestly have no idea. Maybe I should send an e-mail?

KAIL is still on 7.1 and they say the FCC has no problem with it. Channel 7 is their digital channel.

KAIL shut down broadcasts on 53 when they went digital. 7.1 is its main channel, 7.2 is RTV and a limited schedule of Giants games.

KAIL is still on 7.1 and they say the FCC has no problem with it. Channel 7 is their digital channel.
