As for what Millennials are naming I really pay little attention. As a generation they are collective losers and their opinions are worthless. They seem to think a burger flipping job at Burger King with piercings and tattoos are a worthwhile life goal. They are grotesque and abysmally ignorant on most general and specific subjects. A huge reason our country has fallen to 2nd world status.
Yikes.

You've just condemned the largest generation of Americans living today (72+ million), who are adults between the ages of 26 and 41.

And, as an aside, I used to be one of your car culture readers but will admit I know nothing about the new Mini. My experience with the older Mini's proved to me they were a real piece of cr*p. But to buyers who seemingly choose the infotainment systems over all other car features how did the EV Mini come out?
Well, I've only had the car since Thursday, so it's a bit early to give an assessment. I will say that they are not known for their reliability.

I don't really know that anyone chooses the infotainment system over all other car features, Tuna. Especially with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, unless you somehow screw it up as Honda did (but has since fixed) or as Mazda continues to, they're all pretty similar now, the only differences being number of speakers, output power and screen size.

Remember, I described them as a 'generation' and not individuals. But even the most educated and monitarily successful of them seem to be woefully ignorant in a ton of essential information for a democracy. As an example they can describe physics but know nothing of history. And you know what they say about not understanding history......

I know several customer facing friends in the industry who all claim when a 'youngster' comes in looking at a new car their most common first question is "can it get <streaming options...etc.)? Then they get sent to the F&I pirates and find to their horror they have not a clue about finance. It seems so easy to lead them where you want them to go.

Yikes, indeed.

Every generation has had its slackers and rebels. I immediately was reminded of "Kookie" on 77 Sunset Strip; a stereotype of the haircuts and attitudes of a portion of youth in the late 50's and early 60's. That character contributed immensely to the TV show as a contrast to the sharp suits and precise haircut of Efrem Zimbalist, Jr. in that show.

There are always contrarians of some kind in every group of society. Today's non-conformists are no different in attitude than those of the 50's or 60's, although they have different causes and styles.

When I grew up both individuals would be considered circus attractions.
If I recall, you're 11 years older than me, so when you grew up, there were a lot of horrible things that people thought, said and did that we realize now were horrible (and when I grew up, too).

Still, I'm not quite sure what would make Justin Bieber and Lizzo "circus attractions".

Bieber's most notable claim to freakishness could never be displayed in any circus without the vice squad paying a visit.

Heck, we see that here with frequent posts where terms for "gross income" and "net profit" are constantly confused. There is a very significant lack of understanding of money, on both a personal and societal basis.

But that is not the fault of any particular generation but, instead, of the public school systems that seem to have abandoned many important and useful required courses in favor of (instead of "in addition to") courses related to ethnicity, gender identity and the like.

I remember him getting popped for drag racing and DUI about eight years ago (which also applied to more than a few kids at Bishop High in the 70s), but that's pretty much all that springs to mind about criminal activity.

It's all personal taste. Some people don't like certain music, and they invent various fake excuses to justify their opinion.

There is no right or wrong here. You either like certain types of music or you don't. The rest is totally unimportant.

I was referring to an aspect of his anatomy, which caused a bit of internet buzz when photos taken of him with it in plain sight emerged. "Vice squad" was the wrong term, I admit.

It's not 'fake' or an excuse. It's a valid opinion. Just because it may be a minority opinion or doesn't agree with yours doesn't make it 'fake'.

No it's not. I don't want these horror shows influencing my grandchildren or their peers. Their 'music' is totally unimportant.

I said it's personal taste. But you also refer to someone's appearance as a reason for not liking their music. I call that a fake reason because her appearance has nothing to do with her music. It would likely sound the same no matter what she looked like.

The only reason their music would have any influence on your grandchildren is if they heard it, and were not brought up with the ability to make good musical decisions. Both you and their parents have every opportunity to shelter those children from any music or culture. By the same token, all people regardless of their appearance have the right to make and release their music as their form of personal expression. You have no right to stop them.

Their 'music' is but one reason I despise those people. I also despise opera but at least those people don't clown it up.

You are grossly misreading my posts. At no time have I ever said "I had the right to stop them" or anything of the sort. I said I don't like their music and, more importantly, despise the image they project as role models. We have more than enough losers in the world without promoting a cartoon clown who must have bypassed puberty and a morbidly obese and under dressed female exhibitionist.

Was he waving it around or what? I honestly missed this (and am not the least bit sorry I did).
Someone apparently shot a few still photos or seconds of video of him outside a building (house? hotel?) with the thing dangling. It was "news," apparently, because, well, no one had ever photographed/recorded/filmed/whatever it and published it on the internet before.
