KGO-AM 2.6 I'm not sure if the 49ers will raise revenue and ratings for KGO-am since KSAN-Fm is also named to air the 49ers too.

What was KGO's rating in the same month last year? It's been 7 months since the change. It's probably a lot better now, right? I mean Ronn was "excited" about the change, so there's no way KGO hasn't improved.

KFOG drops again, perhaps part of the Twitch debacle. KSAN is so far in the dumper that they can't see daylight. If not for KNBR the whole Cumulus cluster would be barking. If Lew Dickey's goal is total failure, he's getting close.

It was 8th in 6+ in July 2011, and is now 15th.

In "the" sales demo, it was 20th and is now 27th.

What's interesting about KISQ is that they're really doing an Urban/80's New Wave format....A hybrid that actually seems to be working!

Playing/Alternating between an 80's tune, then an Urban Oldie tune!

K-Ocean in Monterey doing something similar, but not quite as heavy on the 80's tunes.

As far as I know, this is a pretty novel approach....and it seems to be working?

what is 6+? I don't think it's 6 years old and over because I heard they only poll 18+.
What is the sales demo?. I mean there's one total figure and other figures for age groups or gender. I don't understand either figure you mentioned. Obviously KGO is falling, that I understand, but 6+? and sales demo?

Maybe CC will do the same to V101.1 in Sacramento. Since they voicetrack many of their 98.1 KISS people on the other stations, with similar formats.

In the 48 PPM markets, every person in a household / dwelling unit age 6 and over is a panelist. In diary markets, persons 12 or older are surveyed.

The numbers on this website are 6+

12+ has been the standard for many decades until the PPM arrived. It has not been 18+.

"The" sales demo is 25-54. Most transactional buys (meaning those done with analysis of ratings vs. spot cost, etc.) are placed against 25-54 or some subset. There is a trend to 18-49, which we know is "The" sales demo in TV, and there are also a fair number of 18-34 buys. There are essentially not 12-17 buys and 55+ buys, which is why we say "The" (meaning "the main") sales demo is 25-54.

It's a very impressive mix -- born of necessity, I guess, since CC didn't want KISQ and 103.7 playing the same songs (and 103.7 got tweaked too). And CC is always looking for something to promote via the iHeart platform.

What is KMEL doing, to shoot up so far?

It looks like KMEL is staying hard and true to its core audience of multi-ethnic 18-49 year olds whom love hip-hop, R&B, and urban pop music. You know CC is smiling and glad to have made this station its flagship of its urban format division because it has been trending upward for the past 6 months.
