Yeah, really. A couple of notes - the VO guy for Channel 7 was Ernie Anderson, who did all the VO work for ABC during those years, his most famous utterance being "The Looooovvveee Boat..."

Mark Thompson got his big break at KRON before moving to KTTV and getting a chance to do all that work for Fox. Ronn Owens was a pal of Thompson, and used to have him on his KGO program during and after his work at KRON.

KTVU used that 10 O'Clock News opening for years...until recently, I think.

On the KNTV open, note the insertion of a couple bars of "Do You Know the Way to San Jose" Cute. It was written by hit songwriter Jimmy Webb, and was a hit for Dionne Warwick in the mid 60s.

Terry McSweeny is one of those lucky men who has gotten better looking with age...though maybe it's that dippy 80s haircut.

In one of the KPIX opens, you get a few seconds of Dave McElhatton talking about the pending re-opening of the Bay Bridge. The bridge was closed for a few weeks after the 89 Loma Prieta earthquake. A piece of roadway had fallen from the top deck onto the bottom deck.

Llew: Do You Know The Way To San Jose was Burt Bacharach and Hal David, not Jimmy Webb.

But you're right about Terry. He and I were friendly competitors in Reno 30 years ago and in Phoenix 20 years ago...there's a portrait in his attic that's doing some serious aging for him.

Terry McSweeny worked at KTXL 40 in 1983-198? to take over Pete Wilson's Sacramento Spot. I know in 1983 Pete Wilson took over Jerry Jensen's spot on KGO ABC7 News. I also seen video of Gary Radnich teaming up with Pete Wilson at KTXL 40 before they Teamed up again at KRON4 in the 1990's

Now I'm embarrased! In 1971, I dated a rich girl who lived in her parents' Brentwood home next door to Burt and Angie (Dickinson), who were married at the time. They were very nice to her, and by extension, to me.
