San Jose Loses Alternative

At noon today, Clear Channel abandoned Alternative on KCNL/San Jose and flipped to Spanish Contemporary as "Romantica." This seems like a surprise since KCNL had been hovering around a 3.0 share in San Jose and a 1.0 in San Francisco - and was a nice combo sell with sister Classic Rocker KUFX. It's not a good sign for the format when stations that have decent ratings in the format bail.
