KBAY-FM 6.6
KUFX 4.4
KLIV .5

Wow, KLIV can't even pull a 1.0 now in a sub-market. That's really unfortunate. Goes to show you; KLIV was once THE station to listen to in the Southbay.

Would making KLIV KRTY-AM get better ratings?

I wouldn't think so - these days. In the last few years of the KFRC Oldies simulcast, they never even mentioned 610 AM on the air or in their imaging - it was just "99.7 KFRC" like the AM didn't exist. I can't imagine many people were listening to 610. Same with KOIT AM 1260 (now Catholic radio).

Would KLIV-FM Work? I heard of the argument that KGO-FM or KNBR-FM should exist if Cumulus plans to remove KSAN-FM due to low ratings or flip KFOG-FM due to decreasing audiences. I know KSAN and KSFO have the lowest ratings for Cumulus SFO. I know in past ratings books KGO-AM and KCBS-FM(aka KFRC 106.9) were in the San Jose records showing that KGO-AM had higher ratings than KCBS.

Ancient history...at least in terms of radio. I believe KCBS lead KGO in the 25-49 desirable demo, even before the simulcast with 106.9. KGO was the leader in the 12+ beauty-contest ratings for something like 28 years, but started losing ground even there over the past few years.

KGO was decimated by the PPM, where the station showed below 15th in 25-54 and continued to sink further as they tried to "fix" the format.

Looking at the "diary days" is not just ancient history as you say... it's comparing two separate ratings methodologies.
