Its on hd-2 of movin 99.7........................... better than nothing..

Pulse. Seems very hastily thrown together. Using extended mixes, production seems like it was last minute. Maybe they are hearing some things from the street and wanted to try and head off someone else trying a dance station in SF. Hmmm.....

Give it some time and they should make it better sounding but then again it's HD-2.

Story is on the front page of radio-info.com.

Well, I guess this is early considering the station just launched. But this is a good start!

I'm sure down the road, there will be "apps" for people to tune into this station via iPhones. Yeah, HD may have it's technical anomalies, but at least there is SOMETHING out there! :) At this point, the people in San Francisco deserve it! :)

So now 2 people can hear it.

Actually, this is a good "litmus" test here.

Granted, I know HD signals stink...but then, that's all around, not any specific station. But it would be VERY interesting to see how many former Energy 92.7 listeners will go out and buy an HD unit to tune in to the new "Pulse". Actually the real grab is once Pulse has an iPhone "app" available for everyone to tune in with.

Instead of just 2, maybe you'll have 8? lol

HD or not, it didn't take a month to get a dance format back on the airwaves compared to NY where we waited a year and a half for Pulse 87. Granted, Pulse 87 is not on HD, but still has limited coverage. I'm listening to Pulse HD and it's not that bad, not that crazy of the extended versions but at least some radio edits get thrown there.

Probably that same pulse station that every state with a Dance HD 2 uses. I know HD shares a lot of stuff, so if you listen to different states with the same HD2 formats online, you discover it's the exact same thing, except he timing is quite off on each station. Last time I checked (2007) all the dance HD2's used the "pulse" name and same music, with exception to Montana, which had the same exact music, but a different HD2 station name.

So, I guess one positive thing about HD2 is that you know anywhere you go that has the same HD 2 format, it will be the exact same station (or programming), unless of course something has changed since then. Remember, last time I checked was in 2007.

I remember when Power 96 HD2 and Wired 96.5 HD2 were the same broadcast but used different names. Now Power 96's HD2 signal is raggae. I haven't listened to Hot Wired or if it's even still dance, but I did record Pulse 99.7 HD2 via radiotime and will check it out on my way to Binghamton this weekend.

HD2 stations seem to be even less consistent than regular radio! It's like people cannot make up their minds about what they want their HD2 format to be.

I think I remember when WPOW and WRDW first started their HD2's and were streaming, they used the same name "dash 2" and the legal ID had both stations. The fact that they are on the same frequency helped.

As for our HD2 dance station (Mega 103-5 HD2 - KBPA Austin), ours is locally programmed to tailor our market. We've been on for over a year, and we treat it like a 'real' radio station. If you are willing (as a programmer) to devote a little time to your product, you will reap the benefits... HD or analog. If people are going to invest a minimum of $50 in a HD tuner, how about giving them some decent programming? It's not that difficult.

Its great that they are giving this a shot but not many people have an HD receiver. Right now its an internet station which there is nothing wrong with that but its over the air signal will have limited listeners not because of its signal but the amount of people that have the receiver. The only people that have these receivers are engineers and radio geeks

Actually, here's the app. It's the main CBS radio app for all of the stations but SF's Pulse is in there :)

..not to hijack this thread (not sure if it merits it own thread) but why can one not listen online to Party 93.1 Miami? Cox radio was so keen on promoting HD radio (even adopting the calls WHDR) and now, one can't even listen to the HD-2 feed on line like the competitors (CC and CBS). Ridiculous.

Not even on party931.com. It has what was played, but nothing to listen to.

Hot Wired doesn't have a stream for years, so I wouldn't be shocked if Party doesn't get a stream anytime soon.

yeah, it's ridiculous. You think COX would want to expose Party to as many people as possible! Especially since Cox was such a promoter of webcasting a few years ago!

If people want to hear dance music, they will just listen to the plethora of online dance stations than buy an HD radio.

Well granted their are many better online dance stations to listen to than the hd apps or streams. If they would get it on itunes like mix2 in baltimore it will help get an online audience. I should have mentioned in my thread that it was hd-2 as to not misslead people, I just wanted more people to read the thread.. selfish on my part, but I also wanted to get people to check out the stream.
