Anybody know anything about it? How good is it? Does it have good sensitivity, selection, etc. I'm talking about in general, not necessarily the HD Radio part of it. I'm thinking of buying one to replace my Pioneer TX-950.

It's very good...but the Sony XDR-F1HD smokes it. Best selectivity of any FM tuner I've ever used - out of the box, it outperforms my Carver TX-11b with a custom narrow filter job. The Sony's cheaper, too. $50 after rebate...

I've done some remarkable DX with it - it doesn't have the selectivity of the Sony, but if there is any signal on a first adjacent at all, you will get it, sometimes even over HD hash. Sensitivity is kind of a relative spec, I am more and more convinced it isn't so much sensitivity - but self noise in the front end that limits the weak signals. The Sangean does want you want, when you pull the antenna OFF on a blank frequency, noise goes DOWN. That is one quick test anybody can do of how good a tuner's front end really is. The Sony may be better, but there are very few tuners that actually produce less noise than ambient. So a decent antenna and transmission line, the Sangean will do a really good job. How fast it quiets on receivable signals - not as good as my best tuners. But acceptable. I don't have a Sony to compare, probably will pick up one sooner or later.
AM is nothing to write home about, but I use a Hammarlund SP-600 JX for that - nothing beats the Hammarlund.
The Sangean has more control options than the Sony.
The HDT-1X is a good tuner but I don't like the way the AM performs, it's insensitive without my SelectATenna and it sounds weird. I don't have the Sony XDR-F1HD tuner but I do have the Sony XDR-S1HD clock radio and it probably has the same front end as the F1HD. I've heard about how great the FM selectivity of the F1HD is and my S1HD has the best selectivity I've had, perhaps better than the Sangean and my modified Denon TU-1500RD plus it performs pretty well on AM.
