Sangean HDT-1X out at amazon?

Sangean HDT-1X out at Amazon? I really liked that tuner. I got 2 of them mainly because you can force analog out. My 1st unit the buttons are starting to get harder to press. I wanted to get another one. Is there a tuner out there that is like this one?

I maybe able to it looks like there is a little opening in there.

All of the consumer-grade HD Radio tuners have been discontinued for a few years now. The Sangean HDT-1 and HDT-1X are long gone, as well as the Insignia (Best Buy) and Auvio (Radio Shack) clones of it. Sony's highly acclaimed XDR-F1HD tuner is gone as well, and prices for used ones are climbing; I just saw one sell for over $250 on eBay.

So more or less these radios are becoming collector items now? Heck I still have the first radio shack HD tabletop radio.

I'm going to be extra careful with my Sony XDR-S3HD now that I looked and a replacement one would cost 400 bucks. Best FM section of any radio I've ever owned.

I thought that also until I got the Sangean WR-2. It's a little bulky but I got a adapter for my RCA input in the back of the record out. I think it picks up better than any HD Radio I own, also the high's and mid's are very clear even on long DX stations I get. I now own 4 of the WR-2 radios :).

Of radios that you can still buy new, the WR-2 is my current favorite. We have several at the station, and I have a couple of them in my home. They have a good combination of sensitivity and selectivity. I originally purchased one to monitor our RDS display, but I've found lots of other uses for them. They sound reasonably pleasant and are reasonably priced. The only negative I'd give them is setting an alarm, or even setting a preset. It is an awkward and not very intuitive exercise. But that seems to be a by-product of the age we live in.

The Sony XDR-F1HD and -S3HD both have an exellent FM tuner, but I'm not fond of the aggressive noise reduction system it uses on analog FM. On weaker signals you can hear it trying to preserve some stereo separation while also eliminating the hiss, but the noise gating is very fast and it makes the stereo image sound choppy and unstable. It would be better if they gave you the option to either turn off the noise reduction (allowing full stereo separation if you don't mind the hiss) or to blend it to completely mono.

I got a Sangean HDT-1 HD off E BAy under $70. The Remote control won't work. The batt checked out good.So I dont know if I could ever find one for it.

Try replacing the battery even if it checks good. I had that problem with the Coby HD Radio's CR2025 battery in its remote. Even though it tested good and worked fine in other remotes, it didn't work in the Coby remote. I replaced the battery with a new one, and now the remote works fine.
