Just bought the new Sansa Express (Sandisk) mp3 player which Best Buy and Circuit City have been featuring
($59.99). Not too bad; it plugs right into a USB port (no adapter needed) and you don't have to buy
batteries (it recharges when you plug it into the comp.) One interesting feature is the ability to
record off the enclosed FM radio (I know, these folks don't care much for AM)
I tried it for a few seconds (with a Boston country station). I think it shows up as a .wav file. Could
people get airchecks this way? Think so: after recording you could plug it into your computer this way:
--dubbing cable (1/8" plug at each end, one going into the input jack of your computer)
--play it back in real time onto software like AudioRecordWizard or Audacity. This should convert it to
.mp3 format, although you also could look up your files using Windows Explorer (go to my Computer
and tap on Sansa Express where you can view files and delete them if necessary). Anyway, once
you convert it to mp3 (much smaller and better to deal with) you can send them via computer.
Interesting....
