Santa also stops by 92.5 The Wolf.

As of this morning 92.5 is also All Christmas known as Colorado's Christmas. Could this mean The Wolf will be no more after The Holidays???

Hey Charles (or anybody in the know),

What is the heirarchy of CBS Denver - I'm specifically looking for names of gm, head of programming, and any other applicable folks responsible for making decisons (ie: those that can actually make decisions).

GM: Don Howe
Director of programming and hero in his own shower: Bill Gamble.
Good luck, unless you have a really stupid idea then they will be all ears.

Spot on mate, as one who had a front row seat for the chaos they create on a daily basis I can't even begin to put into words how inane these two can be when put in a room together each trying to top one another with their "out of the box" thinking. It truly makes me shudder.

How do they keep their jobs with 1 shares?

yep a freaking 1.2 for the month 25-54 for MIX great idea! Lets run off the core playing mid chart stiffies on MIX and then.... (take a toke Bill)... and then flip the Wolf to the Reindeer and play a steaming pile of country Xmas c**p. This is out of the box thinking? Take the wrapping off, open the box......and.... surprise.... somebody gave you a clue!!! Sometimes there is good stuff IN the box!
Rusty O U T.

Don is a smart guy in an impossible situation. Bill Gamble is an impossible guy in a smart situation.

Keep wishing.. I don't think so.. keep in mind at Midnight on Dec 25th everything goes back to normal.. The wolf well still be around and they well still play their original music after Christmas. I think it is quite cool actually on what they are able to do with that station. What other station has the freedom to change formats twice and go back to their orignal format all the time? The WOLF is a very unique station in that sense, to where Bill has allowed The Wolf to be a very different station in that aspect. I hope that never does go away since that is what makes 92.5 so interesting to talk about and to listen to.

Are you getting your weed from Bill Gamble? Holy S, are you stupid! The only reason The Wolf has "the freedom" to keep switching formats is they have no listeners! KYGO couldn't do that because- guess what- they HAVE LISTENERS! The Wolf has a cume of 40,000 and they all also listen to KYGO. Get a clue. The Wolf will switch formats as soon as Wilks figures out what to do with it to make money. Oh, yeah, did I mention that The wolf loses half a million dollars a year that now KOOL & MIX have tot try & make up? Not gonna happen with a 1.2 trend on MIX and a declining audience on cool. And Don Howe hasn't been smart since 1998.

So you must know someone or work for them to know that kind of information after all huh? Ok so you think I am stupid for thinking that 92.5 doesn't have any listners due to the fact that every single day of the week they play people who have called in and told them they have switched from KYGO(which btw isn't doing that hot in the ratings either and is also declining to)to The Wolf! Yes I said KYGO isn't doing that well, since all KYGO is doing is playing the same songs over and over and over again and hey if they were doing well (like you mention) then why would the PD make such an announcement earlier this month on what to do with KYGO and had people call in to give him some ideas???
The people over at 92.5 does have the freedom to play with their formats and that is what makes them so different from KYGO! The PD over there probably wouldn't even think to make KYGO a fun station to listen to like switching formats for the seasons. As I recall they didn't play 1 single christmas tunes at all!

I really like to see your proof on how you know that The wolf looses half a million dollars a yr... i really would.
At least The wolf has stepped it up a notch to to make country radio fun to listen to where as KYGO has not! Humm and you think that KYGO isn't failing, I think you are the dumb one here not me. Do you research again man and you well see that i am right!

duuhhh Bevis those are Wolf sales people saying they made the switch to the Wolf. Certainly not an indication of the number of people that cume a station. Smoke and mirrors just like Burke asking for "suggestions" on what to do with the station, cheap marketing and fuzzy feel good nonsense. Inside is right on the mark, the last time 92.5 made money was when it was Jammin. Billing was close to a million a year but not enough for the brASS at CBS. Oh and KYYYGO did play Christmas music, to the point of distraction. Now go back to the denverradio board where you belong.

AS IS SAID JAMMIN MADE MONEY AND WAS THE ONLY CLASSIC DISCO AND R&B STATION IN THIS MARKET AND CBS AND THEIR NARROW MINDS HADTO FIRE A GOOD STAFF AT KDJM AND FLIP TO "ANOTHER COUNTRY STATION" . WOW JAMMIN BILLED OVER A MILLION DOLLARS AND THAT WASN'T ENOUGH??? HOWE WANTED ANOTHER COUNTRY STATION PERIOD......WHY DIDN'T THEY FLIP PATHETIC MIX 100 TO COUNTRY WHICH WAS DOING WORSE THAN JAMMIN 92.5 WAS  ???

AGAIN I HOPE 92.5 WILL BECOME ANYTHING OTHER THAN ANOTHER COUNTRY FORMAT. YOU HAVE ENOUGH OF THIS FORMAT IN DENVER..IE..98.5..97.9..103.1

A question for you Rusty,

Are you alwayts this mean to other people or just to me for some reason? Becasue I am not offended by your response one bit and I do post on both boards, both here and Denverradio.net. Your attitude stinks and I am glad Chase came in and tried to calm things down (Thanks chase).

Now if you think 92.5 made any money as a disco station think again that is why CBS radio turned it back into a country station. Since that is what alot of people like but they made it in away that it would be different then KYGO and it would make money. Tons of people have said GOOOD Bye to Kygo becasue it is a well boring station to listen to. They don't put any creatvity into KYGO at all! Do you remember how many times they had to change their country format in the past 5 yrs??? More then 92.5 has that's for sure, and the PD if you read on Denverradio.net asked the listeners to call in and suggest what they want KYGO to become.. Just like they did several yrs go for KS 104 remember that? So apparently KYGO isn't doing that hot either and they are having maybe alot more problems then THE WOLF is having.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if they either kept the current format on 92.5 or changed it, after all it is his station and once the research is over and they find out why The wolf is either doing poorly in the music or the finance or something they might make a a change in the station.

Again try to be nice if you can, i am just posting and speaking my mind... do u not like that or something? If not oh well, I don't tell you what you can and can't do. I don't expect anyone to tell me that either..

Whew hard to argue with that logic. Your right about everything, KYYYYGO stinks and 92.5 is a juggernaut, a country power house ranked 17th 25-54 persons. Chase; I was wrong about WRIKER, I like him he can go anywhere he wants.
Happy New year to one and all. And here's hoping that all that wax on about radio and know nothing will get a gig and find out how unbelievably wrong they are.

I wonder if you were being serious or not about that? Hard to tell really.,.. but look at it this way.. If the wolf goes who would be left to compete against borning Kygo? Right now as i read Kygo isn't doing that good at all, i would think Lincoln would think about looking seriously at KYGO and see the numbers are not there for both people and commericals. And think about leaving the country sense even though they have been on there since the late 70's but all things have to come to an end they can't be Country forever anyways. Besides as i said before at least The wolf is being entertaining and the id's and all doesn't sound borning at all. It makes people want to tune in and listen. I think the wolf could do well with both Country/rock format! I think that would work don't you?

have a good new yrs

Thanks for sticking up for me rusty and I apologize for attacking wriker. I certainly don't want to offend anyone left who cares about radio.

But Fact #1: When Wolf hired Jonathan & Tracy away from KYGO, they paid huge no cut contracts. They also had Bo on in middays- not a cheap talent. Then there's the morning show salary. They weren't bringing in the revenue to cover those costs alone, not to mention all of the licensing fees for their HD1-400 channels. MIX revenue was totally covering their ass and then some, and KOOL was off a bit but holding it's own. That's why the moved J&T to KOOL , fired half their airstaff, and made all but the morning shows VT all 3 stations.

Fact #2: Yes, KYGO numbers & revenue are down but cume & revenue on almost every radio property are down. The fact is that you may like 92.5 better than KYGO- and so do I other than the morning show- but the listeners do not. It takes years to become a heritage station and CBS- nor Wilks- had/has the time to wait for that to happen. Nobody does anymore. and Wolf has proven to be a failure which cost the GM his job. I always thought there was room for 2 country stations in Denver but KYGO seems to crush everyone eventually...even though I bet they are playing a Garth Brooks song while I type.

Guess #1: Expect Entercom to cut costs and rise above the rest here on the FM side. When their stock price rises and they have some cash flow in a few years, they'll purchase Wilks and own the 25-54 demo in Denver. And agency business is owned there.

I hope everyone has a prosperous, healthy, and Happy 2009.

There's NO WAY that 92.5 will be a Country station come December 31. My two bets are still either all-news (e.g. WINS in NYC) or all-sports (Even if they buy the piece of crap parked on AM 1510 in the process). A third would be a Progressive FM Talker (But with Air America being on Clear Channel's AM 760, a Progressive FM Talk format might be hard to pull off IMO).

Mind you, I'm not attacking you personally. I'm just looking at things from a different perspective here.

Now over to you Johnnie_Radio - WTF was up with the use of ALL CAPS in your last post? Haven't you forgotten that ALL CAPS = SHOUTING??? Sure, use 'em to emphasize something (Heaven knows I do that all the time on here). But don't make an entire post like that. Talk about bad board etiquette.

Anyhow....JMO....

Cheers :D

Humm let me see what is the date now? Humm well as far as i can tell it is passed new yrs eve and day! And what's this??? OMG no way, 92.5 Is oh man still 92.5 THE WOLF! Now what were you saying about come December 31st of it being another format? Humm i think you need to check your prediction books again bro casue you were wrong. In fact oddly it is still owned by CBS Radio(I guess it still needs to be approved from the FCC or something).

All caps??? I think when you wrote this you were drunk because as i looked it over the whole thing isn't even in caps.. Re-read before responding it would make you llook like less of an idiot when you do respond.

You want people to be nice to you and yet you respond with "you must be drunk". Pat was refering to Johnnie radios post that was in all CAPS. Not yours. Get a clue.
