This week, a CP was granted for an LPFM in Santa Fe on 105.5, KSKV-LP. The licensee is “Blue Sky Radio”, whose statement of purpose includes a reference to programming for Pueblo communities around Santa Fe. The station will be on a relatively short tower near the Plaza; its signal might reach the Tesuque Pueblo north of Santa Fe but it’s doubtful that it will reach others.

Not that LPFM applicants are ever held to account for their statements of purpose, but that’s what I was paraphrasing.

So will this be another of those LPFMs which get all enthusiastic about broadcasting "the word" only to find out that even their own congregation will lose interest in it?

Bishop's Lodge Road is up nice and high overlooking Santa Fe proper. But I don't see the population of Santa Fe as being one that's going to go for the message. And the statement of purpose about serving Native American communities is pretty much contradicted by the actual coverage area.

Two other LPFM CPs in Farmington KBFH-LP 105.7 (Bisti Broadcasting) and another at 106.5 in Shiprock (The Issachar Calling) are part of something called “Diné Adventist Radio” along with KSKV-LP.
