Talk to me about The Santa Rosa market and the Maverick Media cluster?

Of those stations I know of - KSRO 1350, KFGY Froggy 92.9, KTOB 1490,
KRRS(?) 1460 and KVRV 97.7 The River - my question is this, J the B...

WHY is KSRO airing Don Imus Nine to Noon weeekdays??

Talk about loss of immediacy...

Just to clarify neither KTRB or KRRS are affiliated with Maverick Media of Santa Rosa. They are in the same building (downstairs) but there is no affiliation.

The Santa Rosa Maverick Media stations are as follows:

--- Froggy 92.9
--- Mix 104.9
--- 101.7 The Fox
--- 97.7 The River
--- 1350 KSRO

Thanks!

re: santa rosa market - why is there no top-40 station? tons of a/c stations, but no real top-40. and now, 2 country stations again, although who really knows about the newest one on 106.3? i actually saw a bus ad for it though. other than that, most of the stations appear to have a lot of voice tracking and/or out-of-market morning shows going on, IF there's a personality or air talent voice. not too much live on the fms any more.

re: the maverick stations - the people that i know there are very good people, and the stations seem to be doing pretty okay.

We used to have a Top 40 Hip Hop station but it was bought out and flipped to Spanish, but that was some time ago.

As for the Maverick Media stations, in target demos they're doing very well. I don't know about the remainder of the market, but the music stations at MM are live throughout the day with minimal voice tracking.

maybe they should bring back Spencer Whosit, who would commute in from Sacramento.

don't you mean HOT 98.7??? seems their "radio playhouse" morning show has a logo very similar to "Doghouse".....very interesting.:)

Not only is there logo EXACTLY the same, except saying playhouse instead of doghouse. But that show is syndicated out of Oregon, so it isn't even local.

hot 98.7 does not exist in santa rosa any more, at least since august 2007.

http://www.y987.fm

it's not really a top-40, either.

HA! Their old webpage is still availiable. What is ammusing is HOW Cheap that company must be. 2 DJ's all day long?? 6A-2P,then 2P-10? And they are probably tracked.

How sad the state of radio is.

Re: Santa Rosa market - freq flip?

and now - y98.7 moves to 100.9 AND 95.5?

what next?

good luck guys!!!!!
