The 6AM-7AM show on WRCA 1330 is a repeat of an hour of the previous day's program (the Monday repeat is of an hour of the preceding Friday's show). I suspect that the 3PM-4PM show is live. I don't know whether the live program is longer than the one hour carried by WESO/WBNW/WPLM, with some out-of-market stations taking more than the one (3PM-4PM) hour. Can anyone elaborate?

I'm telling ya, his star is risin' !

Who is Santos?

Surely, you jest! But it would be interesting to know who is paying for all of that leased time. A couple of years ago, there was speculation that Mike Dukakis was the guy. Others said, "impossible! Dukakis watched every nickel of his fortune and would never spend his own money on Jeff Santos." Anybody have any more recent info?

Jeff Santos has several backers who believe in an alternative to the abundance of right wing talk radio. I can assure you that Mike Dukakis is not a primary supporter.

Right wing talk radio was a reaction to the almost complete saturation of left wing ideology in the traditional news and information media. Being a reaction to a reaction is a loser, as Air America amply proved.

Left wing talk radio is a cure for which there is no known disease.

Agreed...also the founding of Fox News was a similar reaction, one news channel leaning right to counter several others that lean left (and some would like to see if off the air...)

I am not going to waste space debunking the fallacy that their is an abundance of liberal ideology in the main stream media or the failure of one poorly managed and executed liberal talk radio network is proof that progressive talk radio has not and will not continue to achieve success.

I will say that progressives don't want Fox News taken off the air. Aside from providing comedians and satirists like John Stewart and Steven Colbert with prepackaged material, like Ann Coulter, Fox News does more to drive undecided and new voters to the Democratic Party than the DNC could ever do.

Three examples.

>> Without an informed population, Democracy is doomed to failure. Send the FCC an email and DEMAND that FOX "news" be taken off the air. At the very least, they ought to be fined for such blatant propaganda.

"Turn Off Fox--Bad News For America" (OK that's a boycott not a call for outright banning.)

Then there's the stop sign I saw in Beverly that had "Fox" spray painted under "Stop" but I
won't count that.

Some conservatives feel Fox is too liberal btw. And yes there are efforts to defund NPR/PBS, etc too but not an outright effort to have them shut down.

And I'm not going to waste space trying to disprove that a parallel universe exists, since one obviously does.

Your evidence that there is an organized effort to have Fox News taken off the air is one comment on a liberal web site,, a Facebook page with 69 likes and graffiti on a stop sign?. You really need to step away from your computer and go out a get some fresh air.

TSB, the parallel universe comment was very funny. Thanks for putting a smile on my face this morning.

If you make a claim such as this, please prove it.

Well, that ain't gonna happen. This "Fox drives folks to the left" is one of those "wish is father to the thought" neener-neener myths that surfaces whenever the KosKids get into big brother's stash.

The folk who believe this all have one thing in common...they don't understand TV news audiences.
