SA's KTKR Weather update person Bill Limmer

http://www.weather.com/aboutus/radio/personnel/limmer.html

Question for you Radio People. Bill Limmer does the Weather upfdates on KTKR. When he identifies himself it sounds like he is saying "I'm Dillioner" . For a while I was like who just identifies himself with just their last name. So my curiosity got to me and I looked him up. He says his full name in one quick blurt "I'm Bill Limmer". It sounds bizarre to me. Anyone have a opinion on this?

Doesn't it strike anyone as odd that so many of us get our weather updates from people who are hundreds of miles away giving us-- at best-- second-hand information on what's going on in our part of the world.

Yeah, They have Bill Limmer (Dillioner) and Sally Russell do the weather updates. They try to pass it off like they are SAs local meterologists. Seems like anyways.

I just assume it's cheaper for the station to go with a weather provider than a local TV weather meteorologist or a part-timer. The bottom line rules decisionmaking now.

Hell, if its about saving money, the Program Director can read the National Weather Service Forecast for free.

I always assumed the stations got the Weather Channel forecasts free just to get that Weather Channel plug in with every forecast.

I hardly ever notice the names of the traffic/weather people on any station I listen to. You must listen to this station non-stop.
