Sassie dog PSA

Why would a DOG care about a CAT? Dogs hate cats, remember?

That PSA makes no sense. And it's the most annoying thing I have EVER heard on Phoenix radio.

I have to agree with you. Major rip off of Lassie. If I was the creater or owned the rights to Lassie I would be going after this PSA and creator. The dog that tell its owner that "insert neighbor/friend of Timmy here" is stuck in a well or any other concoction you can come up with about how Lassie saved the day in 30 minutes or less. Life doesn't work that easily, sure would be nice.

But on another note it does pay the bills. So I am sure employees are happy about that fact.

Ad Council PSA's aren't paid commercials. Stations usually run them when they have extra air time that hasn't been sold, mainly overnights.

Speaking of paid commercials, I'm looking forward to the day CenturyLink closes their deal with Qwest and (eventually) kills off their "Heavy Duty Internet" campaign. Talk about obnoxious!

I stand corrected. Thanks for letting me know about that fact. I have found a better option which works great for me. I exercise my freedom and turn off the radio so I don't have to hear annoying AD Council ads.

I think my beef with these ads is what do they really contribute. Does our government and the Ad Council believe we are really that stupid?

Charlie.

I don't mid Qwest ads as much as Cox ads. My little fantasy involves drop-kicking or running over Cox's little blue-striped robot mascots! ;D

Both companies are in need of advertising overhauls. Qwest has been running the same commercial at high frequency for three months, at least on TV!

While we're at it, how about getting Blue Bell Ice Cream to make a non-musical ad for rock stations (those folksy country jingles don't mesh well into KUPD or KDKB's spot sets), then we can also send Glen Lerner back to Vegas.

Unless you're KTAR/620 and run PSA's provided by TMISU, although I think they also run Ad Council stuff. ESPN Radio is almost ad-free overnights.

They don't mesh well on any station in any market larger than North Platte. Those ads are nauseating in every sense of the word. Who longs for the "good old days" when those (at least in the TV ads with the 80ish old man, with flashbacks clearly set in the 1930s) were during the Great Depression? And the ice cream isn't all that good either, not to mention very expensive.

He can take whichever Phillips is running Phillips and Associates these days with him. In fact, he can take all of them. ;D

But, all is right with the world. Tex Earnhardt is back doing his own ads again.
