im by no means an engineer so forgive my ignorance
i am looking to send a daily show..and i know starguide is the standard but what are some other (financially nicer) ways to send a show...
is there a way to send a show via comrex tieline ip-box zepher that can be used in a point to multi-point configuration??...

thanks in advance

Some questions:
1. How many affiliates?
2. How long is the show?
3. Does it need to be live?
4. (Goes with #3) Will there be listener interaction (i.e. phone calls)

4 affiliates out the gate
4 hour show
and yes its live...AND listener driven...

i look forward to your reply

Barix

The way to send it is via Barix. With only 4 affiliates, you can send it directly. With the Exstreamer 1000 you can even have 4 relay closures for triggering automation systems.

Even the cheaper 100s will allow for 25 Hz automation tones, of course.

Your other option would be to sign up with a Shoutcast provider. Streamguys is good, though I've been dealing with these guys for years and found them to be excellent and cheap too!

What you'd be doing is pushing your audio to them with a Barix Instreamer 100 and then they would re-distribute it for you. As you need more slots, you simply buy more from them. The Barix Exstreamer 100s you'd be able to pre-configure, so they'd simply have to be plugged into an Internet connection to work at the stations.

Any idea when the 1000 will be available? It's still not up on the website. I have a client that would be perfect for that would allow us to get rid of an expensive T-1 line.
