Satellite radio subscription density - Atlanta region?

Ok... I gave up today and renewed my XM subscription after have let it lapse 6 months ago. I decided that if none of the stations were going to give me a station with local focus and personalities, I may as well get better variety and consistent signal.

As a radio outsider -- really, just an interested listener, I am wondering if any of you within the industry are aware of statistical info of satellite radio subcription rates by region. It would be interesting to know if, for example, a higher percentage of cars in Atlanta subscribed to satellite radio than in LA, NY, or Chicago -- whether due to demographics or due to general state of radio in those regions.

When the Arbitron results come out, do satellite ratings get lumped together, separated by station, or ignored as if the radio is off?

Great question... you know PPM's pick up satellite... they just don't report it.

With technology you're not limited to local radio anymore... (Thank goodnees). I have Sirius/XM in my car plus my iphone has Xm, Pandora, Youtube, AND Clear Channels "I Heart Radio" app that lets me listen to many of their stations... and believe it or not, CC has some decent stations. And with my adapter I can listen to them in my car.

Local radio? Nah...

You should download the free AOL Radio app for the iPhone too. A ton of AOL streams plus access to most CBS Radio stations around the country.

K~

P.S. Yes, I work for CBS Radio so I'm partial
