Saturday Night Disco

FM 100 has added a disco show to the Whatever Weekends. Listened for about an hour last Saturday Night, my wife loved it, I tolerated it. However, they need a new host (they used Garner last weekend).

Ah Yes!
My wife, too, will enjoy it. She likes the music!
I shall hate it with the kind of passion Mel Gibson showed in Braveheart.

I shall despise it as I did when I was a toked-up teen that went to a theatre in Murray, KY to see some new "Saturday Night Fever" movie my date wanted to see. (We left early-there was No Skynyrd or Foriegner)
However, I soon realized to get laid in the late 70's, it helped greatly to dance with the ladies in the club. So I did.
Some of my most embarrassing-yet rewarding-nights were spent at the "2001 Disco" in Paris, TN.
I hated (but in some ways loved) that place.

I never said I didn't KNOW the music...I don't LIKE it!

Thank Goodness for "Quarter Draft Beer" nights and horny little small town ladies! ;D

Interesting idea. But, not new.

One may remember, they did a Disco Show on Saturdays back in the early-to-mid 90s, when I was there. Art Frederick hosted, and did a good job with it.

Art had hair back then. Well, some, anyway. :)

Thanks for rekindling old feelings Meepster. It got me to thinking about a gal named Vicky from Ripley, TN that I ran into at Century 21 Club in Dyersburg one New Year's Eve.

HAHAHA! Oddly enough, I live in Ripley now!
I married a Ripley girl (thankfully NOT named Vicky)
But amongst all my friends here, I've heard many a story about Century 21!
Do you recall Vicky's last name?
Maybe she's our mayor's wife or something..hahaha!

Absolutely, I remember Vicky's last name.....but I dare not share it with you on the message board. Nope, not the mayors wife.....but close. You would probably know her Dad and perhaps her brother if I told you.

Former Mayor's Daughter?
Hooterly gifted?

I believe I DO know her Dad and Brother...(WILL the name ever come to me???)

If that's the one, I could tell you additional stories that'd curdle your milk, although I cannot speak as to their validity...thousands of Rock103 listeners heard at least one of the stories several years ago.
I am reminded of a Disney Tune...

"It's a small world after all..."

What a HOOT!

I'd rather just let sleeping dogs lie.....forget I ever mentioned Vicky or Centruy 21

"Don't try to take me to a Disco, you'll never even get me out on the floor."

that sums up my feelings about it... I probably won't be listening... and yes I can pick it up in Jackson.

Yes, it helps if the host at least sounds older than the music they play.

I would have to respectfully disagree. The host should have a passion for the format and radio in general. Stop and think about it, getting paid to play music you like! What's better than that?

If the host had the year, band personnel, and trivia in his or her head based on experience which they could relate to the audience in a believable way. Other than that, I agree with your disagreement.
