Still got the tapes from Rockwell's in Rocky Hill (1989) in which they would keep a mic open as proof they were broadcasting live from the club

I remember them doing that at this run down club in Bristol. (The Stadium? maybe), and that whole leaving the mic open was good, except I can clearly remember one night when a rather vulgar conversation made it over the air from this girl screaming to her friend near the mic...

Yes, they tend to play much of the same music week after week, but overall its a nice backdrop for whatever you're doing. As much as alot of music from that era gets a bad rap, admit it some of those songs are guilty pleasures for many of us. maybe its the novelty of hearing Major Harris only once a week as opposed to every day that makes the show listenable. They've gone through a number of hosts over the years, but overall I think the announcers are secondary to the music. As for oldies, I think Mark Edwards still hosts his sock hop on WLNG on Saturdays.
My show was supposed to launch on Saturday May 12 at 10PM on 990 WXCT. It was gonna be a mixture of talk, disco, reggaeton, and oldies. It was gonna be called "The Satuday Night Freak-Out".
