Saturday...What's It Gonna Be?

OK folks, it's time to decide. It's a tough decision. It requires intense analysis...deep thought. You have to weigh the pros and cons. Which show is going to best suit my listening tastes?

There is the easy and convenient option...
WOGL, 7 hours of the rhythm of your life...all the disco you never wanted to hear in crystal clear FM Stereo. Of course it's still 1979, bell bottoms are hot, sex is safe, and with the convenience of the radio we don't have to jam an empty cigarette pack into the 8 Track to prevent 2 songs playing at once.

Then there is the "not as easy but still plausible option."
Music Radio 77. A four hour show featuring and hour and a half of phone calls referring to the "good old days." My dead grandmother would be a more entertaining and lively host than this guy so we just "call in" and talk about what we can remember of the sixties and when WABC was the s*#t. We realize that those days are long gone so we have given up on trying to actually entertain people. When we're not playing commercials, talking to the folks, or apologizing for how lousy the show is, maybe we'll play a couple of records that WOGL played earlier that day. Maybe if enough people get high just like in the late sixties and seventies, they'll forget that they're listening to "The Safe 100" in lousy Amplitude Modulation fidelity.

Then there is the "depending on where you are and how good your radio is" option...
1520 WKBW. Listen while you can. The ratings are in the toilet so it's gotta be great!!! Nothing this good can last forever. It's entertaining, unpredictable, and lively! Great calls, (short and sweet), there is variety of music and the show has personality! 50's Rock And Roll, DooWop, the forgotten Rock Instrumentals, Wow! What a concept!...no wonder no one listens, it is too great for the average person.

I suspect out of all of the "oldies" people, one of the first two options will win, but all of us freaks will be tuned to Buffalo's greatest on Saturday night.

It's Saturday, so get down to Circuit City, drop a few dollars and get Sirius, then tune in to Cousin Brucie tonight on Sirius 6 for a much more enjoyable taste of the good old days (and no commercials).
