WGTQ had just signed on in 1976 (as a simulcast of WGTU) and was a very low-budget operation. In fact, until Sinclair took control, WGTU/WGTQ wasn't a full market ABC affiliate (WZZM and WJRT served the areas south of roughly M-55)
