For whatever reason, religious/talk WCER/900 Canton decided to pick up TRN's Michael Savage for a next-day-delayed run from 12-3 PM. It's the latest non-religious show on a schedule that now includes Take On The Day/Premiere's Dr. Laura and WW1's Bill O'Reilly, along with fringe talker Alex Jones in AM drive.
There's a little problem with this new affiliation for The Savage Nation.
The presence of Savage's show live (6-9 PM) on Clear Channel talker WHLO/Akron, which has no difficulty covering the Canton area even on its 500 watt night power.
Now, such a show airing in two nearby markets like Akron and Canton is not new. To name just one example, Westwood One talker Bill O'Reilly airs on WCER now in nights (9-11 PM), and also airs on Akron talker WNIR/100.1 on weekends. WHLO itself runs Rush Limbaugh in tandem with CC sister talk WTAM/1100 Cleveland, and long ago, WAKR/1590 Akron carried Rush in its brief news/talk period, though delayed by an hour.
But Talk Radio Networks apparently goofed, and their contract with WHLO for Savage apparently provides the Akron outlet with protection in the nearby Canton market. Upon being informed about this, TRN took the show away from WCER, though they've apparently allowed the station to finish this week with Savage.
This is all detailed in these posts...first, by R-I user "JohnAmhrein", who's said he does some work with WCER in past posts:

As a note... I'm not surprised by this, as far as TRN goes.
