Savage Getting the Imus Treatment

Michael Savage "remains unbowed"

Michael_Savage That's the headline the New York Times gives to this morning's profile of Savage - currently under attack by the Council on American-Islamic Relations - by Jacques Steinberg. The writer contrasts Savage's response to trouble to that of Don Imus, because Savage is suing CAIR for using audio from his show to raise money for itself as part of an "Action Alert." One of the things the paper reveals is that Savage operates from a San Francisco-area "waterside house" whose location he won't reveal. Steinberg says Savage (still legally known as Michael Weiner) has "two other homes here he has studios and which he treats as virtual safe houses." Weiner's also licensed to carry a pistol "and does does", because of threats on his life. Read the Times story here.

Henry Kissinger said even paranoids have enemies but this guy seems to really want to be in a bunker.

It also sounds like talk show hosts are being monitored by various activist groups who are ready (1) Too post untoward comments all over the web (2) Pass those comments along to the media and (3) Organize advertiser boycotts. Will hosts before forced to clean up and tone down?

If this takes the wind out of Savage, it may be good news for Levin.

I believe what Savage is doing is the right thing. If you like Savage or don't like him please look at all of the facts in this case.
He is being attacked and boycotted for expressing his opinion. Like I said even if you do not like Savage please go to his website
and go to other websites, whether they are for or against his views and please form your own opinion. Please do not believe
everything you hear about this man take some time and research it and form an opinion then. I understand that many see him
as a polarizing figure and I understand that as a talk show host, people either love him or hate him. I listen to him and agree
with some of the stands he takes, other times I think he is off base, however if you truly understand what the facts of this particular
case are you can understand why he is pursuing this.

I know people that have had to work with that guy. He's quite frankly insane. That's not to say what he's saying is wrong. It's just that he's insane. The slightest thing like the neighbors cooking the wrong food and causing a slight smell or whatever will send him to one of his other houses. I think he actually has three houses instead of the reported two. The guys at TRN just keep calling one of the three ISDN boxes set up at the houses until the get the loon. One time he went off on the board-op so much that he accedently was still cussing the guy as the show got on the air nationwide. (Think of that famous Casey Casem rant x 4 running into the opening bumper music!)


Sometimes when people are TOO smart they are insane. "Savage" is a perfect example of that.

BTW.. Weiner is Jewish. I'm sure that adds even more fuel to the fire with the CAIR bunch.
