Savage in RBR/TvBR

My sincerest compliments Mr. Savage! Never let it be said that you do not speak the truth to common citizens like us who have no real understanding of why this 80-year old system known as AM broadcasting isn't working nearly as well as it used to. Thank you for being so honest.

And thank you for posting the link dumber!

Thank you, Bob.
This is like a birthday present for me....49 today, and this presentation made me smile and laugh a lot. :)

Happy Birthday, Tom - and thanks to all of you for your kind reviews. Glad you enjoyed the piece.

But for additional entertainment, check the pdf files amended to the commentary, in the sidebar on the right. These are some of the pleadings associated with WYSL's various complaints and replies in the CBS/WBZ situation. The CBS arguments are.....well.....illuminating.

I'm suure they are.

I've been working on this thing with a 15 foot tuned loop, solar cells, a timer, an electric fence pulser /wth variable duty cycle.
But only in my head.
I'll let ya know where I get with it, but let's hope we can bury HD this Friday.

Hasten Death to AM HD, and put digital in a spectrum region where it can work, not against physics, preferably new spectrum.

"Illuminating" is not the word I'd use. The word I'd use is the usual description of what often eminates from the rear end of a horse.

Here's the real cure to this stupidity:

http://www.radio-info.com/news/fcc-...gests-adding-tv-channels-5-6-to-radio-service

We need to ask for 2-6 on a secondary basis to EXISITING TV stations. And, we need to ask for analog. Each "AM" station should get one of the top channels and those that want to play radio (LPFM, whatever GodChannel translator folks, etc) could get the rest available in the market. Lots of radios already exist out there that can tune TV channels litterly for a couple bucks or so at flea markets, thrift stores, and garage sales. "Old" TV transmitters could be modified and fitted with modified or new FM exiters that could work in the new band. There's plenty of decent analog tv transmitters, some even solid state, collecting dust or being junked out.
