Savage, Ingraham, and Lionel on WCRN...

Word has it Monday will be the day when WCRN switches to talk. Michael Savage will probablyair 7-10 pm, followed by Lionel (acc. to his website) while Laura Ingraham will air 1-3 pm.For Boston area listeners, this is a chance to catch Savage at an earlier time (WRKO airs him10 pm-1 am--though WCAP in Lowell does run him 6-9 pm, so if you're up there)...and alsoIngraham would be heard earlier (WTKK runs her 10 pm-1 am)And if you're within range of WNSH Beverly, Laura is on 9-noon.

(previous).."Word has it Monday will be the day when WCRN switches to talk".Your post seems to confirm my "rumor" from a couple of weeks ago when I asked if anyone had heardthe story I had heard about the switch from oldies. Have you heard who might fill out the rest of theschedule? I mentioned earlier some "buzz" about Peter Blute doing a shift but I haven't been able to confirm that.

As an aside, I previously had posted under the name "gcc83j" but with the complications I ran intowhen starting to use the new formatted board (probably my own doing), it was easier just to gowith a new moniker.

On the Frank Foley Show last Friday April 28th, Frank mentioned that changes were coming and if you like what you hear in the morning, you'll like what will be coming to afternoons to WCRN. This week, Frank's show has been excerpts from previous shows with live cut-ins by Mike Roberts for news, weather & traffic breaks.IMO, this would seem to indicate that the Frank Foley Show may be moving to afternoons. At the very least, hopefully Frank was implying that afternoon drive would be live and local. As mentioned in an earlier post, they are running promos for Laura Ingraham weekday’s 1 to 3 p.m. and Savage Nation 7 to 10 p.m. It seems like their weekday morning financial shows will stay, too. Also this week, I noticed an hourly ID one morning as the following, "50,000 watts of talk for New England, AM 830 WCRN Worcester / Boston". When they were running as the True Oldies Channel, they ID'd as Worcester / Framingham / Boston.

I think the Worcester Telegram/Gazette article (linked in another thread) said Foley's taking a leave of absence but may be back. Looks like: Peter Blute, Mike Roberts, Ingraham, Howie Carr, Savage, and (I guess) Lionel (again, that's going by the Lionel website which lists WCRN as a new station. The show originates at 10 pm which means it likely would go after Savage and run livefrom w-t-and-g article:>>WCRN radio personality Frank Foley asked for a leave of absence a few months ago, but may rejoin the station, Mr. Carberry said.

note: as per another thread, Jerry Doyle will run at 10 pm on WCRN not Lionel. The Lionel site mentionsWCRN as a new station; maybe he'd be on at 1 am tape delayed? I think that was the slot where WTKKhad him (Lionel) years ago.
