Savage off KTTH?

I've been hearing John Gibson the last few days on KTTH instead of Michael Savage. Would have liked to see a local show, but what can ya do? Anything is better than Michael Savage.
 
savage still listed on ktth (mynw station conglomerate websight). not sure whats goin on here. what kind of ratings savage been doin on ktth? i was pissed off at ktth when they moved savage to replay broadcast at 6 pm a few years ago. since then i tune into KBKW 1450 aberdeen, at 3 pm, to hear the live broadcast several times per week via cc wifi radio. yes, savage was one of the few "political talkers" worth my time on seattle radio. story developing?.....................
 
Thanks for the free plug, but since we're on a small budget down here in Aberdeen, I'm asking that you send me a small donation if you listen to the stream.

Seriously, whether you like him or find him totally insane (although many who find him insane also like to listen to him), he is one of the top-rated radio talk shows in the nation, and I find it difficult to believe that he won't be picked up by a new Seattle area affiliate.

Don't forget to send the money.
 
sure bill i'll send a donation, perhaps in exchange for my 30 second on-air political rantitorial during the michael savage show. as of today, 5-20-10, savage has been knocked off the ktth web page, with john gibson now in the picture box for the 6pm-9pm slot. i would love to know the radio station politics behind this move? lets face it, savage is a square peg in a sea of round holes at corporate conservative Mcradio. thats why i like him. once again, anybody know the ratings situation with savage on KTTH? this same scenario played out recently in sanfran last sep, where savage was knocked off one of its conservative talk outlets, KNEW. within a short period of time, he reappeared on sanfran sports channel KTRB. hmm......lets see, here are savage seattle outlet options: 1)KVI, once carried savage many years ago. would they knock carlson off to carry savage live? would they knock mark levine out at 6pm? 2)KIRO, no way jose. 3)1090 AM, ya right. 4)KJR, get real. 5)KKOL, maybe. 6)KRKO, by golly a marriage made in heaven!!!!!!!!!! this sports talk/savage marriage is already underway at KTRB in sanfransisco.........
 
Ratings wise, it wasn’t great for Savage. In April here’s how he looked:

P35-64 – 23rd (right behind KVI)
M35-64 – 24th (behind KVI)
P 35+ - 21st (ahead of KVI)
M 35+ - 27th (behind KVI)

This is pretty much par for the course going back to the beginning of PPM. He was great in diary, but I don’t think stations are going to be tripping over each other to grab this ratings juggernaut.
My guess? This move was all about stealing Fox News from KVI. They promise to run a Fox host in a decent daypart which KVI isn’t doing. Ratings will be a wash. No harm, no foul and now they have Fox News. Win for KTTH.
 
thanks for the investigative research here REI. heres a few more ponderings: i wonder if savage has any other bonneville outlets in the USA, and/or if he was "politically" dumped on all of them? i wonder how the savage ratings were a few years ago when he ran live on KTTH, at 3pm, compared to the local talk host on now? in my book, FOX hacks aint worth listening to, except for a few minutes of critique here and there, to here what the corporate RNC/GOP line being spewed today is. as many may or may not know, savage was a sarcastic finger pointing enemy of most of them FOX talk radio icons. i'll continue to listen to KBKW via CCWIFI for savage when i can. but, my dinosaur talk radio buddies i work with and many other seattle market savage listeners will be left in the dark. savage was on XM a few years ago, but he pulled the plug on it, as he felt it was two timing all the radio stations that aired him across the USA. oh well.......
 
This was a step back in evolution for KTTH. This is (as Savage always says) is the last great independent radio show in America. He's not connected to Fox, Rush, Beck or anyone else in the conservative media. I listen to his podcasts anyway because I can only take so many Goldline, Carbonite and awful local commercials. RadioEatsItsYoung is probably closer to the truth than any of us know (no pun intended). It's a correct assessment in my opinion.
 
Good riddance to Savage! I found the show unlistenable because of its frenetic rants and hate-mongering.

Mark Levin is often at the same volume level, but at least he puts forth reasoned arguments and facts to support his opinions. Not to mention he has a bit more gravitas than someone who had a cable show canceled and many affiliates bail because of his hate speech.

If only we can get Dennis Miller back on at a decent time!

Dennis does a pretty good show, but it seems like he's really getting the shaft in most of the markets he is on. Even in New York, where it does air live, only two of three hours are cleared. Then you have Washington - where I'm assuming he was previously on another station that ran him overnight because his current station runs liners in which Miller says "Now I'm on at a time when you can actually listen! 3 to 6 PM" - not only are all three hours on tape delay, but they're aired out of order.
