Savage returns to N.O. and with new time slot

Michael Savage returns to N.O. radio since WIST had to take down their satelites, and at his new time of 11am-2pm replacing Bill O'Reilly at WGSO tomorrow 3-2-09.

Three problems:

1). Savage from 11am-2pm is too early. I certainly don't want to hear Savage screaming when I'm trying to eat or work.

2). It's too schizoid going from Jeff Crouere to the Savage Nation to Dr. Laura to Lou Dobbs.

3). Savage was a difficult sell at WIST when he was their highest rated program getting thousands of listeners. How long will it take with no marketing budget for listeners to find him on WGSO?

WGSO is all over the road. Three months from now, the lineup will change again.

But, on the flip side, maybe Savage will help them get into the Arbs. With Savage, Boortz and Mancow (and, of course, Eric and KAAAARE), WIST managed a consistent .8 But, at least they showed up. WGSO hasn't shown up since they signed on 2 years ago.

The 11am-2pm Savage feed is a re-feed of the previous evening's show...so it's almost 18 hours old. Don't know how that's going to workout...we'll see.

When WIST moved to the Quarter they did not get approval to put up satelites in the Quarter, then residents forced them to take them down. That's why there is now only local content with the standards being played. As far as Savage, I thought I read his show is eventually moving to the daytime, hence the reason for the re-feed.
