Savage suing syndicator (what will RKO do if show stops?)

Legal stuff brewing between Michael Savage and his syndicator TRN, as seen in radio-info headlines.
Savage's contract ends at the conclusion of this month; there are various offers and counter-offers
and Savage apparently is feeling about TRN and their actions the same way Howie felt about the
Entercom situation in '07.

If Savage's show does conclude on TRN (then maybe picks up again via a diff. syndicator) wonder
what RKO does with that slot? At least in the short term...

Almost sounds like what the Entercom/Carr situation was like. It's poss. if this drags into weeks or months TRN could keep the "Savage" show but with guest hosts (Dwight Schultz, Peter Weissbach,
or Jeff Kuhner for example)

I bet McPhee turns up on 680 if Savage goes away, her contract with GM is up any second, and I doubt there is a non compete especially where they dumped her.

She is hinting something is up.

I believe you are correct, but since Greater Media beached her, any provision in her contract to match offers, which is a back door non compete IMHO, doesn't hold water.

Even a weekend spot on WRKO would be great for her, after all it is where she started off on 96.9, and it could lead to a full time gig, especially if Savage goes away, or when Howie bolts in 2012.

Anyone know what her book looked like against Savage in the 18-54 demo? No numbers just an opinion based on having seen the numbers.

As far as I know, non-competes in MA are not allowed by law, at this time.

It's not as simple as that.

McPhee would be great on WRKO, in our area we do not get WTKK, (even if we did she is the only host worth listening to.

At night we listen to PRO, Matt Allen and then some of Savage.

Matt Allen is another great host on WPRO from 6 to 9p.m.

McPhee is a good host but that voice, well, I just can't take much of it.
